Loving Hearts Bear Closet

Loving Hearts Bear Closet, located at 5 Summit Street in Marion, North Carolina, is a non-profit organization that provides essential items and resources to families with children ages 0 to 6. Regardless of age, gender, disability, income, or religion, we are here to help those in need. Our services include distributing baby equipment, clothing, food, hygiene products, and referrals to other community resources.

Founded in 2018 by Philista Gossett, the B.E.A.R. Closet has served over 5,000 families in McDowell County, North Carolina. We have 9 independent locations staffed by dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly to support families in need. Our inventory is donation-based, and we offer larger items on loan to families until they are no longer needed.

In addition to providing basic necessities, we offer educational classes, access to medical care, and support for veterans. We strive to create a community of support that is confidential, giving, and free of judgement.
