"The person I spoke to was friendly, however they require a debit or credit card to be on file to even schedule an appointment.. I feel the community that receives mental health services should start drawing up contracts of their own since these companies can move our appointments with zero notice and want to hold your card hostage and profit if and when life happens.....very greedy in my opinion for an industry that recieves government funding....unless this is a private service provider, which makes it easy to stay away from."
"I really wanted to like Christina Smith as a therapist but am sadly disappointed by my experience with her. I continued to see her even though she often interrupted me and made insensitive remarks that reflected she didn’t really remember what I had shared about my life (she forgot where I was from, for example). But the last straw came when I shared my Catholic faith and she responded with “do you really believe all of that?!” in a condescending tone. From then on, her behavior in session reflected disinterest. She has clear disgust for those who believe differently than she does. I don’t need a therapist to share in my faith or religious views, but it is hurtful to have one who openly disregards and negates them. I would not recommend Christina or LifeStance to anyone"
"Tennessee Counseling "TC" became Lifestance overnight, without an email, phone call, or text notification. I found out they changed ownership when I drove by and saw they changed their signage! My insurance company pre-authorized and confirmed future diagnostic appts scheduled with TC and I was to be charged set costs (providers were approved and in-network). Lifestance took over and I ended up with a huge unauthorized charge to my credit card (which they still had on file from the previous year). Not only is that unprofessional, that is theft. I never received an invoice, they just charged my credit card, without filing through insurance! So beware, folks. I'd like to return for counseling, but I don't trust Lifestance's unprofessional business practices."
"I truly believe that this establishment has patient best interests in mind, however, when trying to work with Cathlyn last year, I was extremely disappointed. Several religious undertones kept creeping up in session despite my very clear indication that in the beginning that this was not to take place. Also, she spent time on her phone during session answering her daughter’s texts. I overlooked it once because of some severe weather alerts we were having, but then it just kept getting more and more frequent until I just decided I’d had enough, canceled my next appointment and never went back. I’m in school to become a LPC and would never dream of having my phone on me during a session, period. If there’s a tornado warning, my phone will let me know whether it’s on silent in a drawer or not."
"282 miles, 1 tank of gas, and a whole days pay for both parents sacrificed for nothing. A total waste. I made an appointment over the phone to get my child evaluated for adhd as it runs in the family. No one in the area had an opening for months but there was one a week from when I called and I gladly took it even though it was not close in the slightest. Turns out the psychologist doesn't even deal with anyone my child's age. They had a whole week to tell me this and the psychologist even notified the office an hour in advance of the appointment so they could inform me of the mistake. Not a single phone call. If I could give them no stars I would. This is completely unprofessional. My husband and I lost pay from being out of work for an evaluation that was never going to happen. We can't get that back."
