"First and foremost - the staff (nurses and cna’s) were very caring and attentive. And a few of the office staff were also. For those I thank and CC Center should do all they can to retain you! But the experience was not healing nor pleasant. Short staffed ( a CNA was also the cook) and the food /drink choices were not diabetic or heart healthy friendly. High carbs are not healing for the immune compromised. Dietician 101 manual Now for my favorite part - sitting at a table from admission to discharge lacks in communication in the most harmful way. As my mother was discharged with pneumonia and was not verbally informed (something I feel was a necessity)….only on paper discovered hours later by me, her POA. And the so called “heads” at the round table need to listen to family members. We’ve had them our entire lives - you only a few days. It is not ALWAYS about shuffling them in and out just because of numbers and what is considered “normal”. There is definitely a lacking in standing up for the patient and fighting for those who need it the most; OUR most vulnerable in todays society; THE ELDERLY -"

"It’s funny how most of the positive reviews are made by administrative staff. The truth is they are understaffed because everyone is quitting due to poor management. A lack of supply’s and a lack of help are just a couple problems this facility has. Hopefully things will change for the sake of the residents who live there, not looking likely under current management."

"My mother is currently a resident at Christian Care Center of Unicoi County . Before covid-19 I visited at different hours of the day and would like to share my observations. 1.The staff are some of the most caring people I have ever met. The staff treat the residents as if they are family addressing each residents unique needs. They treat each of the residents with total respect and caring. They try to redirect residents on a as needed basis sometimes multiple times a day , making sure they all feel special. Staff are upbeat and positive no matter how hard the day. I cannot say enough about how great the staff( RN ,LPN ,CNA, PT ,OT, kitchen workers and all the administration staff) are. 2. I have noted multiple improvements since CCC took over the building.Some of them are : all residents are now in a private room, HVAC system has been replaced , new medication carts have been added, security cameras and doors have been installed, new furniture in the commons area as well as the day rooms , exterior updated, these are just a few of the noted improvements. 3 . If you look at what Tyler Colbaught and his team has accomplished it is obvious that they are committed to outstanding care and continue on a daily basis to put the residents first and make their last days as near normal as can be. What ateam !!!"
