"My experience taking the Music Production Technology course at Daytona State College as an international student was extremely positive. The program is very well designed, the teaching staff is extremely qualified and the attention given to each student is exemplary as they take you through every important aspect of the music production universe. Another strong points of the college for me were the admissions department, and, especially, my international students advisor, Mr. Gregory Campbell. Greg's expertise was instrumental in my success at DSC. From enrollment to graduation, his knowledge and guidance were important not only in helping me make important decisions (and there are many along the way), but also gave me the certainty of having a friend within the college who was always available and rooting for my success. Greg's professionalism and friendship reinforced my bond with the DSC, and the college is to be congratulated for having such a friendly, competent, and capable professional."
"Accounting program:academic support - one person helping for the whole department. Program is self taught. Precalculus-I had a great experience and lots of good help- thanks Erin. This department, forget it. It’s all self taught and no one is available for support, teacher or the center. Their best answer is use the homework help button and all that does is say what is wrong not what needs to be changed to fix your error. Totally shocked at the difference from one department to another. Come here for math but not accounting."
"During my time at Daytona State College, I’ve had a very wonderful experience. Everyone there was very helpful, they go above and beyond to help you with your needs to succeed. My admissions officer Mr. Gregory Campbell assisted me with everything I needed to prepare for my classes. Other departments were just as helpful as him. The professors I’ve had were all kind, understanding, and helpful too. They all answered my questions and gave the best advice on how to succeed in their class. The environment there was great, I got to make many new friends and play ping pong with them at the Student Center. Unfortunately, my time at DSC has come to an end since I graduated from my AA degree program. I now have credits that I can transfer to my next school. I hope future students can all have the same experience as me. I will definitely recommend this school to anyone who is seeking to study and collect credits"
"This place has a horrible management staff and is absolutely not the place to work. They believe in leading by fear. Witch is an absolute and complete bad management style. Who wants to work for anyone that threatens you're job all the time. Especially for mediocre wages. I have never and would never work there. But someone very close to me does and it's disgusting to me how they treat their employees."
"HOUSING I usually do not waste my time writing negative google reviews so the fact that I took the time to write this is a testament to the awful experience I had with housing. To anyone considering living in the dorms at Daytona State College, please read. Educationally, this school is sufficient for obtaining an associates degree to transfer to a university at a fraction of the cost and professors are great. However, avoid living on campus if possible as housing staff do not take complaints seriously. I had incredibly significant roommate issues and after several meetings with staff about switching units, I was told in a very condescending way that the issue I was experiencing was not serious enough to be moved. Additionally, after being locked out of my room one night and talking to the RA on duty asking to be let in, he said there was nothing he could do until the morning and so I was forced to sleep on a friend's floor (This same RA was later fired for bullying a student and making misogynistic comments about girls in the dorm). Furthermore, I decided to transfer to a university for better educational opportunities and applied for admission well before the housing cancellation deadline. However, I did not receive notice of acceptance until three days after the deadline and consequently was unable to cancel my housing contract before then. After explaining this to housing staff and offering my dated acceptance letter, they denied my request to evade paying housing fees for the upcoming semester (It is important to note that there were well over 200 students on the waiting list for housing during the upcoming semester so filling my spot was certainly not an issue). In a nutshell, this housing establishment is greedy and does not care about the well being of students. You'd be better off living in an apartment off campus for a better experience at a more reasonable price."
