"My tax preparer Mr Carol Shutt did not delete the unsigned return he prepared that I asked him to, it is still in the system AFTER he said he was going to have his manager deleted if he couldn't and here it is days later and it's still in there, and no one is answering the phone, so I'm assuming at this point I just need to file a formal corporate complaint. When I asked him to delete his refund and told him why he told me he would put me on a do not serve list which is not what I asked for I don't want to file the return that he prepared. I am very unhappy with this year's return and I probably won't ever use h&r block again because of this situation."

"Giving 3 because the outcome of the service was what I needed. But the entire process was painful and she was quite rude and at points mean. I needed to refile my 2018 taxes, and she didn't understand what I meant. That took about 30 mins to explain. Afterwards, when she finally understood, she goes, "if I did what you did I would've killed myself." She filed my taxes wrong 2x. Which was about $200 difference. When looking over my w2s, she goes "you need a different job." I didn't come to be insulted. I just wanted help. And what should have been a quick 30-40mins took about 2 hours Update: this review was from 2020. This update is Dec 2023 and down to 1 star. I moved states and get a letter in the mail from Ncdor stating I never did my state return. So I have to refile again. Come to find out, the lady that did my taxes at this time typed in the wrong state identifier. So I have to repay to have it filed amongst other issues now"

"I filled my 2021 taxes with Jothilakshmi Trichy Subramaniam and now I'm getting audited because of a mistake she made. I had another tax accountant check Jothilakshmi's work and my Post 9/11 GI Bill had been submitted as a scholarship which it clearly says in Box 5 "Do not enter the following types of payments in Box 5: Veterans' educational benefits..." This has resulted in the IRS thinking I owe them $1,000 more than I should have. Additionally, the other tax accountant found that Jothilakshmi had missed a NC return of $574 that I was supposed to receive. The misallocation of my Veterans' education benefits shows that Jothilakshmi is (at the bare minimum) not qualified to do taxes for Veterans."

"Place is busy!... sometimes no one is at the front desk it's so crazy. Tax experience was fine. I dropped stuff off so I didn't have to wait and finished up in two appointments. They made me nervous as they seem very unorganized. I wrote down my phone conversation and was told my appointment was at 2. They called me at 1:30 to ask if I was coming as they put me down for 1:30. So the first meeting felt rushed and I felt a little talked down to. Next year I'll probably go someplace else."
