"Dr. Bohnerwachs is a very good Dr. From the the start to finish. Dr.Bohmer showed me everything he would be doing. When he performed my hysterectomy. I had very unusually enlarged uterus, and intense scar tissue.He did a wonderful surgery. I’m in horrible pain. His staff is very attentive to my pain. Very attentive. Follow ups calls(several). I absolutely love Dr. Bohmer and his staff.During my post-op appointment. His Nurse was very comforting. Dr. Bohmer showed me my surgery pics. "Dr. Bohmer’s bedside manner was absolutely terrible. Before and after surgery his attitude was very aloof to any of my concerns. The day after surgery I called in to let them know I had been in extreme pain and the medicine I was given (oxycodone) was only putting me to sleep but the pain was still persisting. I was told by the outpatient practice we performed the surgery at that I would have to go to the emergency room if it was that bad. Later during business hours I spoke with one of his nurses and they sent over something for nerve pain and another unrelated medicine. All the while I have been complaining about extreme abdominal pain since my procedure, which without any testing I was told by Dr Bohmer and his nurses had something to do with the normal healing process even though I was feeling pain far after the time he said I should. I called in several times about my pain to no avail, no one had any answers or remedy to the problem outside of offering me unrelated pain medication and suggesting more Tylenol and Ibuprofen. At my 10 day post op appointment I reiterated that I was still feeling uti pain when I used the bathroom. He very non chalantly said “we can run a uti test” which I agreed to. After that he proceeded to rip off my scab on my bellybutton leaving it bleeding and saying I can put a bandage on it, asked if there were anymore questions, and left the room. I spent more time waiting in the office for him to come in then I actual spent speaking with him at the appointment. It wasn’t until the morning of 4/18 (a full 8 days after) that they even responded via the portal stating that I indeed had an infection and they were prescribing meds. This was very negligent and showed no signs of care because since the 30th of March I could have possibly been dealing with an e coil infection with no treatment. There was no care or urgency when I expressed any pain or discomfort throughout this entire process. I expressed my feelings with Dr. Bohmer about how negligent the medical fields can be when dealing with women of color and how our symptoms or pain is never taken serious. He explained that he treats everyone the same and yet this whole process has been a nightmare."

"Being a transplant to the area, it seems overwhelming difficult to find a doctor in the area, at least one where you don't feel like another number walking in the door. I tried a few doctors but none compare to Dr. Bohmar. I feel comfortable always talking about issues that we probably would prefer not to discuss. He is upfront, doesn't walk a tightrope with issues. I have been seeing Dr. Bohmar for the past 6 years and will keep him as long as I can."
