"I am very upset about how my situation was handled with Atrium Eastover, Dr. Sarah Pollock MD. I tried to transfer care from Atrium Northeast because they are severely disorganized. My husband took off work 12/6 (he only gets 2 sick days a year) so that we can see our baby on the ultrasound. My appointment was 11:30AM. The office had plenty of time to call me and let me know the ultrasound tech called out, rather than take my copay to not receive desired services. My vitals were checked, I gave a urine sample, then received a Chlamydia and Gonorrhea test…that’s all. Upon leaving I spent hours on the Atrium Health website looking for a new provider. Finally I saw Sarah Pollock with stellar reviews, so I decided to book an appointment. I actually had an appointment scheduled with her 12/9, but Atrium Northeast told me I couldn’t have both appointments, so I cancelled with Dr. Pollock. I realized that was a big mistake after visiting Atrium Northeast, so I put my transfer in. After 3 weeks I began to worry about my lack of prenatal care, so I called Atrium Eastover 12/27 to receive an update. Upon checking my records, the nurse told me my transfer request was denied. I asked why in complete shock, and told the nurse I had never been denied care before. She tells me that Dr. Sarah Pollock and her team don’t see a reason for me to deliver at CMC Main. I was devastated. Not only am I closer in distance, but this is also my first pregnancy after 4 years of infertility. I had to lose 135 pounds to conceive and change my entire lifestyle through diet and exercise. I also didn’t spend hours on the Atrium website looking at reviews to pick the perfect provider for this to happen. I finally get a call this morning after seeking follow-up, where another nurse admits there are too many transfers right now and not enough doctors to accommodate them. I assumed Dr. Pollock just didn’t want anymore patients, so I’m not sure why I was lied to the first time. Maybe Dr. Pollock shouldn’t be currently accepting new patients if that’s the case, because this is extremely unprofessional to treat a patient. I’ll be switching back to Novant."
