Reviews of Fayetteville Woman’s Care
"My first visit here was alright, Dr. Rodriguez was nice for the most part. I went in for a consultation for a tubal ligation and he agreed to do it. I was slightly annoyed by the number of times he asked if I was sure, but otherwise the visit was okay. My next visit was for my pre-op appointment, where he did not seem to recall who I was or any of my history that we had discussed during the consult. I asked about using birth control after the surgery, and he cut me off to say, "You don't need it." I reminded him that I have PCOS and birth control is one of the very few options for treating the symptoms and ensuring regular cycles. He then told me that I could just take a hormone pill once a month to induce the cycles, and I mentioned that would not help with the other symptoms, to which he sort of just shrugged. Then I mentioned my PMDD diagnosis (this is where things really begin to become concerning) and he recommended an antidepressant. OK, great, no issue there. However, he also told me that I could just take the medication as-needed for PMDD symptoms. Many people may not know this, but starting and stopping antidepressant medications like that can be very dangerous, and if this doctor isn't educated enough to know that then he has absolutely no business prescribing them. The next time I saw Dr. Rodriguez was the day of my surgery. He asked me several more times if I was sure, and finally the procedure was underway. When I woke up in post-op care, I looked at the incision near my belly button and was immediately concerned because it didn't appear to be closed all the way. I mentioned it to the nurse and she just said to call my doctor's office later if I was worried. So once I had regained consciousness, looked at the wound again and determined it was open but full of dried glue, that's exactly what I did. The nurse on the phone said that she'd seen the issue before, where the wound wasn't held closed until the glue had fully dried, so it pulled back apart and the glue just went inside of it. She scheduled an appointment for the following day. The next day comes and I go into the office for the procedure. Dr. Rodriguez took no responsibility for the state of the incision wound; he stated that the glue had torn when I moved because I have a belly. If that were true, it wouldn't have been filled with glue - the only way the glue would've gotten inside was if it had come apart while it was still "wet". He said that he could pull the glue out for me, but that it wouldn't really matter and I should heal up just fine. He then instructed me to clean the area a couple of times a day with hydrogen peroxide and it would be fine. He did not make any attempt to close the incision back or cover it with anything. I ended up spending the following Saturday at Hoke ER on IV steroids and antibiotics because, despite following Dr. Rod's instructions, I was left with a deep infection at the site. The wound was dehisced and will never close flat like it should, so I have an embarrassing, ugly scar and a couple thousand dollars of medical bills from the ER visit. Suffice it to say, I will not be returning to this practice."
"I love this place. I normally have Dr.Davis who is wonderful. I am a college student and I travel both back in forth from Durham to Fayetteville. Today, my experience was trash with Dr.Glass. Off the jump she didn’t say “hey how are you”? She was just rude. Why aren’t you in Durham if most of your things are in Durham? Just so rude!!!! I have been coming here since I was 13. I’m now 22. Stick with Dr.Davis!"
"I really do not like this place and I would have preferred to go to Raleigh. The nurses, they are kind and caring. The OBs on the other hand, not so much. They don’t treat you like you matter. Dr Wood is the absolute WORST, so unprofessional! I requested not to have him and was denied. He is known to have malpractice and doesn’t tell you the risk of things. He stapled up a sponge after an emergency C-section in July 2023. Refused to listen to the mothers concern about how much pain she was in, saying it’s normal. Until about 4 1/2 hours later and they figured out they were missing sponges. Had to do an xray and then reopen and restaple. He is extremely rude. When finding out that I tried to request someone else, he made a comment to me in a rude tone, “oh I see what you tried to do there” and then prove to be pushy and not wait for my husband to be in the room with me for the baby’s heart beat because he went to the bathroom. You will go the entire pregnancy without knowing who your delivery doctor will be. They rotate you through them all throughout your visits. They tell you they are on the same page, but they are no where near being on the same page with one another, or you. They all have different opinions and tell you conflicting things. Doctor Boothe is extremely judgmental and doesn’t take the time to even listen or talk to you about your concerns. Dr Glass gets mad and tells you you’re baby will probably die, when refusing to get the flu shot… Dr Walker and Dr Ferrel have been the kindest most wonderful OB and would prefer them for a delivery Dr over any others. This place is just a joke all around. If you want to feel listened to and important. Go somewhere else. This place treats you like nothing but another paycheck and like cattle ran through a farm. It’s disgusting and the lack of care for you during pregnancy is just astonishing. Run."
"Second time I’ve been here. They don’t care about the patients. They have terrible attitudes and are rude. They make you feel extremely unwelcome. I was not made aware from the appointment I scheduled that they would have to check me, I was completely unprepared and uncomfortable with doing so. The very rude nurse went and asked Dr. Glass what we could do, and the doctor didn’t even have the courage to talk to me myself and tell me that we couldn’t do anything if I didn’t want to get the check done. Word for word the nurse said “she said reschedule when you’re ready. But you can check out and go reschedule” I tried to explain I wasn’t prepared for it and I was really nervous at this point, but the nurse was rude about it and not caring at all and packed up. Why would I want a doctor that clearly doesn’t care about me or the comfortable environment for her patients? She said “I’m not the doctor I don’t know what she is going to do” then why has every other office I’ve been to told me what will happen in advance? So I said I would no longer come back. They know how to dehumanize and make you feel like you’re wasting their time. I have trauma, sorry I wasn’t prepared for my privacy to be invaded. Please, find another office. Both times I have been they were terrible."
"Dr. Booth is the absolute best. She is the first doctor that I’ve ever experienced that actually listened to me. She has an amazing bedside manner that makes you feel so comfortable. She’s so compassionate and you can really tell that she loves what she does. Highly recommend!!!!!!! ♥️♥️"
