Reviews of SpringHill Suites by Marriott Pigeon Forge
"Very clean and comfortable place to stay. Spent three nights here and had a wonderful visit. Only complaint is that the breakfast area was difficult to get through when busy and 2/3 times there was no hot food left. I will add that we did go to the area at a busy time so the hotel was busy so it wasn’t entirely in their control!"
"I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights between Christmas and New Years to explore the Smoky Mountains. I will start by saying the staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself needs better upkeep. The hotel only has 2 elevators and one of them was out of order 90% of the time creating a line to use the only functioning elevator. I chose to just use the stairs to go up and down 5 flights of stairs. I was originally placed in room 516 and when I tried to take a shower the water would be scolding hot or frigid cold. There is no in between. When I tried to put the faucet right at the middle to try to get warm water the whole bathtub was shaking. I asked to be placed in a different room and the staff was very nice and moved me right away. As soon as I said my issue, the front desk person said it's a known issue for room 516, but apparently it still has not been fixed. I’m not sure how long this issue has been going on. Both rooms didn’t have hand lotion. I used the fitness room, and it has 2 treadmills. One of the treadmills makes very loud noise and sound like it’s on its last leg. I had to switch to use the other treadmill."
"Very disappointed on the quality of the hotel. My husband is a titanium member with Marriott and this hotel fell short of the standards I’ve seen with Marriott across multiple properties in 3 continents. 1. The rooms had a stink and was not cleaned properly. There seemed to be pet hair in the room which was not vacuumed 2. The comforters had blood stains on them and were apparently not washed. When alerted, the staff graciously changed it for us 3. The curtain system was broken and it the remote was not working and there was no way to open and close the screens and curtains. 4. This is definitely one of the older properties and not very well maintained. The lift areas on the ground and the 4th floor had a stench around them like when the carpets were wet and didn’t dry up properly I paid premium to book a two night stay at the hotel and feel I should have paid some more to have moved to the courtyard Marriott. Thanks, Ash"
"Worst stay we’ve ever experienced. I’ll start that I tried contacting the hotel a few days prior to our stay to ask a question about parking. It took me requesting via their telephone prompt system over 12-15 times hitting the prompt for a hotel employee to answer for them to finally pick up. On their site it says that you should contact a manger for trailer parking. The employee who answered told me that they do not allow trailer parking. That’s fine, but then why not just state that on your website rather than telling us to call and speak to a manager? We are a well traveled middle aged couple who stay in hotels 20-25 nights a year. From Judy at check-in to the night Front Desk agent (male) we’ve never been treated more poorly by a hotel staff. We were NOT greeted by Judy when we checked in as she was busy counting money. That’s understandable as she was doing that before we walked up. When she was finished, Zero friendly greeting. No welcome to Marriott, how is your day, just very transactional like. We had an issue with our method of room payment that ended with us having to contact Marriott customer service. We were hind up on 3 different times and finally received some resolution after about 45 minutes into our arrival. They ended up having to directing the hotel on how to accept Marriott gift cards. The assistant manager that we asked for due to Judy being so rude to us couldn’t help but she was pleasant. We received a call later in the evening from Judy explaining that they could now accept our gift cards and refund our debit card. She explained that we could do that at anytime. On the phone call she was a bit more pleasant. So we decided to get that done when we arrived back to the hotel around 9pm. The man working the FD at that time was again not very friendly or welcoming. We explained what we were trying to do and he exclaimed, “you can do that in the morning, not with me” so again we walked off with my wife very upset at just how rude we felt the staff was here. Now comes 3am and my wife goes to the FD/ gift shop for a bottle of milk and again, FD agent is not rude but just not friendly. Its now 4:44am and we’ve determined that we can only sleep with the air conditioning off, because the unit is so loud we cannot sleep with it on. My wife has been up most of the night due to how loud the unit is. I’m now up because it’s hot in our room. At this point we are considering cutting our trip short and going home a day early simply because we do not enjoy being here at all."
"The food quality is not great. They do have a nice outdoor seating area. The pool was cold and the hot tub was out of service. I have a service animal for a disability. When checking in, the front desk gentleman told me I had to pay for my "pet". I explained to him it is a service animal and and protected by federal law. He told me they don't follow that law and charge for all animals that stay on-site. Later in the evening, he stopped me while walking in the lobby and told me I needed to sign a pet policy form. Again, I explained to him I do not have a pet, I have a service animal and offered to show him my airline documentation. He told me, he wasn't interested in seeing any documentation as the hotel doesn't recognize service animals and view all as pets and that I would still be charged the pet fee. I asked for him to have the General Manager call me to discuss, he told me, "he will be around, you can track him down tomorrow", I told him I would be out of the hotel most of the time and would prefer he have the GM call me. I never received a call. This experience was not great. I am an experienced traveler and this hotel does not live up to the Marriott name."
