"I received a penalty letter from the IRS for failure to file. The 1120S was filed in March of 2023, but the IRS indicates that it should have been submitted by December of 2022. I paid Mr. Edmundson for his tax services throughout 2022 with the payment for this filling to happen back in August of 2022. Once I received this letter, I called Mr. Edmundson and he suggested I call and ask for a first time abatement since he indicated he had sent the 1120s on time. I called the IRS on April 10, 2023 and at that time they stated that he had requested an extension for a calendar year and submitted a fiscal year return, and that I would need either an 8821 or 2848 to be submitted to fix the error before an abatement could be issued. I immediately contacted Mr. Edmundson to find out where the error existed and explained what the IRS had told me. He made no attempt to help me understand but rather ended up yelling at me and hanging up the phone. Further attempts via email (which I have saved) indicate that he felt there was no error on his part and he would make no attempt to contact the IRS on my behalf to discuss the matter. Instead, he sent me an 8828 to sign, which I did and then hand delivered to his office. Today, April 17, 2023, I reached out via email for confirmation of this being mailed so that I could contact the IRS and let them know it was going to be sent. He made no indication of sending the document and instead offered more criticism and complaint instead. When I responded to that and asked him to either contact the IRS or let me know when the letter was submitted, he responded with "please do not contact me again.""
