"I had the pleasure of being employed here for a short time. They pretend to care, but I could sense the atmosphere was off at times. The experts who actually do the work within the office were fine for the most part, they were who made the experience pleasant. However, one morning I had to come in later after being allotted PTO/ sick time, and I even notified who I needed to (at least that’s what I was told to do), but when I arrived to work I was sarcastically greeted by the agency owner, who came in my office, stating “I’m going to have to let you go” as he stared at me with a certain look and uncomfortably hovered over me as I packed up my office. If taking time off wasn’t acceptable, why was it provided? It’s also not surprising that the day prior I actually spoke up for myself for ONCE, but we know how that usually goes working for certain personalities. Furthermore, I asked for a little privacy as it wouldn’t take me long to gather my things, and he replied “It doesn’t work like that” while presenting a very uninviting facial expression. Well, I’ve never experience being fired from any job prior to this, and I know it’s a right to work state, so he really didn’t need a reason to terminate an employee. Thankfully, I’m wise enough to know you can’t survive on one stream of income and prepared myself accordingly. As a single mother, being laid off before the holidays without any reasons given, shows why I’ve preferred not to work under someone who micromanages everything and undermines you as if you know nothing, because they’re your superior. I must say that I learned a lot from this short amount of time, and I’m grateful for the opportunity and lessons, but I will never choose to work for an individual like this again."
