"This place is Not Safe! They have junkies who live in the back of the parking lot. Drug deals going on most of the night. I used to be a regular and frequent customer at the Red Roof Inn of Statesville. I have been staying here when I visit Statesville for at least the last 3 years. The lady who usually works the front desk, Samantha (I think), is incredibly pleasant and accommodating. She rocks. However, there is an older HATEFUL man that works the counter on occasion and every time I see he’s there I literally dread checking in. He is so very unpleasant and rude. He never accommodates any requests for his customers and again, incredibly rude for absolutely no reason. He must hate his job. But they lost a regular paying customer today forever! I will never come back to this place. It’s falling apart in every room, but I liked the pet policy. DO NOT STAY HERE! You will be disappointed. I will also be filing a formal complaint with the BBB and the corporate office. That’s how rude this man was to his customer. I worked retail for years so I am never unreasonable with people who work with the public. This guy is baffling how rude and unpleasant he is to his guests."

"The rooms are a little dated. My room reaked of weed when i first checked in, but I bought a candle to help it smell fresher. I also had to request new towels because the ones in the room did not appear clean. The location is good. Close to a lot of stores and 77 on/off ramps."

"Got put on interstate side of hotel. VERY NOISY. No restroom in lobby. My child needed diaper changed bad. Unaccomidating. Lost key while walking with dogs and child was told although I didn't step off entrance mat that dogs couldn't come in. I asked did they want me to leave my 4 year old outside. NO HOSPITALITY AT THIS hospitality business. Trash all over property. Felt very unsafe. Elevator sounded like it could break down any second. Cob webs on ceilings. Couldn't get my room warm enough. Felt cool when I took a bath. And lock wouldn't open sometimes for 3 to 6 tries. Rarely on first try. Very scary especially with a child at night."

"In the past, I've been highly critical about this hotel, but I had no such problems this time. The rooms were clean, there was no mold in the tub, and the linens were clean and neat. The fact that they allow dogs is the only reason we keep coming. The only problem I had was with bugs. This morning, there was one on the curtains and another on the sink."

"Older motel, but rooms are 100% smoke free and were pretty clean. We had to ask for extra blanket because there are none in the room and the one on the bed was very light weight, but got a nice one when we asked. Desk personnel very helpful and friendly. A great place if you’re traveling with your pet. There is a pet waste station on the premises. Easy on/off if you’re traveling on Interstate 77"
