"6 months of being here has greatly changed my opinion. There was a murder in December & despite my witnessing 4 ambulances & 20 cop cars going in I was told it was a small domestic dispute. I was told by the local electric company that the reason my bills are going up & up is probably because there are filters that are supposed to be changed MONTHLY. There was a plan for them to make some simple repairs prior to 1/25 that did not take place but my apartment was entered & the only thing that was done was that the vertical blinds were adjusted. They only accept rent online so what you thought you were going to be paying for rent is less than what you end up being told to pay. Below is my original review: So far so good. Wonderful staff. Nice neighbors. Beautiful grounds. This community is as big as a small town I lived in in NJ so it may take me awhile to find my way around without a GPS. Also, office is closed on Sunday and had not returned my phone calls for 2 days so I am hoping to hear something back from the office Monday mornings ng."
"If you care about your physical or mental wellbeing DO NOT live at Lake in the Pines apartments. We have been here almost a year and it has been horrible. Since the end of October four people have been shot and three of those people have died. It is a dangerous complex to live in. It reeks of marijuana every time I have to go outside. The stair ways smell like animal urine. The laundry rooms are always dirty. We have had to deal with roaches that are coming from neighboring units and the complex said that they cannot fix it because we are the ones complaining not the other units even though we are having to deal with them now too. Although an exterminator has determined what unit they are coming from. The roach issue started when they evicted someone and exterminated their disgusting unit knowing there were bugs but did not spray any other units and when I called to complain they said “give it a couple of weeks” because they knew that only spraying one unit would make the roaches travel to other units. There is ALWAYS police out here for something. There is always someone screaming outside. Overall it is a horrible area and not a great complex to live in. The price is NOT worth the hassle of living here."
"This apartment complex NEEDS to invest in quality security. There have been 3 homicides here in the past 90 days not to mention countless other incidents like regular car break-ins.. The complex has made no effort to help residents feel more safe or even address the issues. Very disheartening considering the way rents gone up over the years as well, put that money towards protecting your residents."
"This has been one of the worst places I’ve ever rented from. Let’s start with the roach infestation that is uncontrollable, the questionable neighbors adding in a death that happened this year on my building, the reeking smell of mold and weed mixed, and did I mention the roach infestation. If you have other rental option to ensue I would advise you do so and leave this as your last resort. The staff aren’t so great but feel as if they are superior and the rental office is the only thing that is up to par to allow them to sit comfortably and make minimal pay while judging their renters. I would advise you to rent somewhere else and leave this as a last resort because they will rent to anyone. Very ran down environment and the police are always near due to the high crime rates and active crime taking place."
"I moved in with out any delays. Or unexpected expense. The office staff was wonderful! Very helpful and courteous. The apartment is clean and well maintained. I'm happy to have found such a nice place on such short notice."
