Reviews of North Oaks Landing Apartments
"The management group always reacts quickly to any problem that may develop. The Manager will make every effort to follow up on any new problems. The remodeling seems to be going well. Overall, they value their tenants."
"Very happy with how speedily and efficiently move-in went. Office staff very helpful and pleasant. Washer not working when we came to finish some paperwork, but new working one was installed by the time the movers arrived. Update: We've been here over 2 years now and are still satisfied with our apartment, the office staff, and how quickly maintenance comes to fix things (usually the next day). We had some trouble with neighbors not putting their trash in the dumpster, but the problem has been solved. The neighborhood is relatively quiet. There are nice places to walk. The grounds are kept clean. If people are having problems with bugs, they should contact maintenance. We've had some, but the exterminators come out when you turn in a work order as often as you need to. They come on Tuesdays. Neighbors are friendly."
"1. roaches has been the number one problems since I moved in. with my constant complaints the pest control has only been to my apartment 3 -4 times since I moved in and it is a monthly charge. I was told they come out every Tuesday at the beginning of the month then I was told that I needed to request to be put on a list for him to spray every month but with my constant complaints about this I would assume that they would put me on this list. No matter how many times they spray they still come back. 2. there is water damage thru-out the apartment floors so some spots r caved in 3.apartment wasn't fully cleaned upon move-in. shower had dirt ring around the tub that does not come out. 4. washer n dryer is oddly placed its hard to get the clothes out the dryer. 5. Valet trash doesn't always come at the correct time and sometimes misses days if it wasn't for the roaches I would re-new my lease the apartment is a nice size with a big 1 bedroom and a big balcony :("
"DO NOT RENT HERE. We felt extremely misled after moving in. When we toured, we were shown a model unit, it looked great. Being from out of state and moving to the area we had to put a lot of trust into this complex. We were assured that they were under new management (Drucker and Falk) and things were better, this was not the case whatsoever. First, the apartment was nowhere near move-in ready. It was not clean, in fact, it was gross. There were holes in the wall, parts of the flooring were coming up, the hot water was non-existent, paint was peeling everywhere, and the deck had a giant hole in the wood as soon as you stepped out of the door creating a major safety hazard. This was only one of the issues with the deck (nails coming up out of the wood, broken railing, etc.), it was very unsafe, and I was uncomfortable using it throughout our lease. I did bring these up on the move-in checklist, AND I showed one of the individuals from the office, yet the only thing that was fixed was the hole in the board. It was very clear they also did not clean the walls prior to painting them. I found hair, clothing tags, and chunks of dust that had been painted over and were stuck to the surface. The paint was so thick on the walls and doors that it constantly came off, this also made it almost impossible to try to clean the walls or doors as the paint would just come off in chunks. It was VERY clear that they quickly turned around these apartments to keep people in them rather than giving them the attention they needed. Things such as our bathrooms that were poorly patched over, our faucet almost coming out of the wall due to not being installed properly (you could also see mold behind it, there was no way to clean it, overall a gross situation) to our kitchen all had several issues. I could go on for days. Second, the bugs are a huge issue, even when you have pest control come. Considering our door had a gap that we could pretty much see through, the bugs were constantly an issue no matter how clean I would keep the place. I even tried to get my own spray and the bugs would come in. I strongly believe this may have a lot to do with the state of the North Oaks Landing community itself which brings me to my next point…. The outside of the apartment complex (pool area, gym, parking lot, etc.) is absolutely disgusting and filthy. The pool is consistently closed because residents trash it every weekend and the gym provided 0 cleaning material, forcing residents who want a clean space to bring their own cleaning stuff. There is trash everywhere at all times as well as glass. Other residents have a complete lack of respect for their surroundings constantly throwing their trash on the ground as well as their beer bottles that they would drink in the parking lot/pool area. While I understand the office staff can only do so much, there needs to be better enforcement of the rules or consequences for these individuals. It is so unsafe to have the amount of glass lying around everywhere, I almost cut myself several times after not seeing glass in some of the grassy areas while I was unloading groceries. It also doesn’t help when they employ a valet trash service that simply doesn’t do their job. You are forced to pay for a service where the workers will drag bags of trash on the ground, spreading trash everywhere in the process on the sidewalk or in the parking lot, and simply leaving it there. This trash is hardly ever picked up, it only disappears after a storm or maintenance finally picks it up. As I mentioned before, I could go on for days, but you should get the point by now, this is not a place you want to move to unless you want to shell out 1,500 or more on a substandard apartment with lots of issues. While I understand that my experience is not going to convince Druker and Falk (the Property Management company that owns the property) to step up to the plate to put in the time and work necessary to make these apartments a truly enjoyable place to live, I do hope that this can warn others to steer clear of this apartment complex."
"DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! This was the worst place I have ever lived. We dealt with a year long roach infestation and pest control was only sent out maybe 3 times despite paying monthly fees for it. We also had a small fire because our heating unit was broken. The three fire alarms in our apartment didn’t go off and I was instead awoken at 2 am to a room filled with smoke. We had previously asked them to fix it because in the summer it was leaking into the unit below us. Their solution to this leak was to turn the breaker on and off again. After the fire, they wanted to only replace a small part and we had to convince to replace the whole burnt out unit. When they did remove it, there was black mold behind it. The unit was filthy on move in, the floor leaving our feet black with dirt. There were also inexplicably beans all over the floor. The “concierge garbage” was never emptied, maybe a handful of times throughout the year. And yet we still had to pay for it! Not to mention, when we moved in many things were broken, including our dishwasher which was held in by a piece of masking tape. I’d also like to mention the blood stain on our kitchen ceiling that greeted us upon move in. Generally, the area was very loud and busy at all times of the day and night. People were often rude and would harass my roommate and their dog, intentionally riling her up. The windows in the living room were also not properly set in and would fall out if you opened them too quickly. This was never resolved. The entire area was generally filthy, with garbage and broken glass everywhere, including walkways. The so called dog park was constantly filled with garbage, chicken bones, mushrooms and glass, which of course are not safe for dogs. The only good thing I can say about this apartment is that the office and maintenance staff were very nice. Overall, I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy."
