Bacarra Apartments 6411 Farm Gate Road, Raleigh, NC 27606

"I cannot urge you enough to stay away from this place. Bacarra really doesn't care about its residents. Moved in months ago and none of the issues we brought up in our walk-through have been addressed at all, including holes in our closet doors. Roaches get in easily because of large gaps in the baseboards, and are so hard to get rid of. Fire alarms go off randomly for no reason, sometimes for an entire day - we've spent the night elsewhere on one occasion because of this. Much of the complex smells atrocious because of the well-hidden farm on the property that they don't tell you about when you're touring. Packages are constantly going missing, and there has recently been a string of car break-ins in the community. Everyone here smokes despite it being a non-smoking community, so that adds to the terrible smell. If you experience a financial hardship while living here, they don't care at all, and are not willing to work with you for even a moment. Living here has been extremely dehumanizing. Absolutely would NOT recommend this complex under any circumstances. They need to make some major changes and fast."

"DO NOT live here. PLEASE READ. Now I want to start off by saying I am a very positive person, & I don't like writing negative reviews if I don't feel it's necessary however, this is not one of those times & people need to read before even touring. I have lived here 2 times in my life. The first was 4 years ago. Of course they were newer, had less people, different managers, etc. I was also newer to apartment living so I was just so happy having an updated newer apartment. 4 years later (current day) I move back to raleigh for work so I of course think of this place but BOY oh boy has it gone downhill in all aspects. After we got approved they of course gave us our keys to what one would expect clean, maintained, etc. This apartment unit was so disgusting that we had basically demanded we get put into a new place..(see pics below) Everything was filthy from the living rooms to the EMPTY bedrooms. Dishwasher had rotten food in it, fridge had spilled condiments & who knows what else in it, there were cracks in the ceiling & walls, I could go on but just look at the photos I've added. Once we made our nicely put complaint they said it would be a few more days until they could have a new apartment move in ready.. we didn't throw a fit.. at least they were willing to accommodate us however, since we had just moved into town we had to stay with family members until our unit was ready on said new day. A month into living there our laundry area flooded our entire apartment. Because of the flooding any bugs that were in the place came out! There were tons of roaches & other critters that were only forced out because of the flooding. Just about every month our toilet easily clogged/broke & of course we had to file a maintenance ticket. MAINTENANCE TAKES FOREVER. The entire year we lived here the only thing they could say is "we have a lot of tickets & we are low on staff" We waited so long for maintenance that our apartment now was smelling. If you email the property management Lisa & Courtney they will take at least 10 business days to get back to you in any regard. If you call it gets filtered through any other office assistant until they feel like calling or emailing you back. Other issues this property has is, the hallways fill with trash because residents do not always use their "valet" trash BUT I understand why. They give you a trash that is so small it fills up in half a day & obviously you don't want it smelling up your apartment so most people leave it outside until they finally come pick it up by 9pm at night OR until the resident decides to take it to the very overflowing/non working half the time trash compactor. (see pics) & once again they do not enforce this very well at all. I could literally smell the trash from my balcony & it wasn't even close to me if that gives you any idea on how over flowed it gets The stairway entrances are always a mess & desperately need to be pressure washed more than once every 3 or so months because it looks trashy. There is always trash in the bushes, sidewalks, walkways & more. These apartments have NOT been well maintained just in the last 4 years. You can easily see that they do as little work to them as possible when the resident moves out just to get another tenant ($) in. You can see old holes in the wall that were awfully covered, mold in the under crevices of sinks, tubs & showers, just simply lack of care & easy money for them from people that need somewhere to live which is just crazy for how much everything in the economy has gone up. Lastly if you like amenities don't bother. The pool is closed at least once or twice a week due to insanitary issues, glass in the pool or more from the residents that also do not follow basic instructions for being in or by the pool area, all of the gym equipment is out dated, &/or broken (check it out while you're there for proof) I do NOT recommend living here, I don't recommend the property management & I do not recommend spending your money on a company that simply does not care."

"I was a resident here in 2021. I just now in 2023, got a notification that we had charges due. I went down to the office today and spoke with one of the most unpleasant, unwilling to help manager. This place went downhill. I went to go get an itemized receipt of what the charges were because I remember leaving that place spotless. I deep cleaned and I even took an extra step and carpet cleaned my apartment. The fact they wouldn’t give me an itemized receipt seems sketchy to me. You want to charge someone but don’t have on file why? Bad business, they’re obviously scraping for money. There’s so many other places to rent, I would suggest going for somewhere that won’t do this to you. The reviews tell you everything you need to know."

"This is a honest review and I am typically a very flexible person. However, this review has been long overdue. This is absolutely a terrible apartment complex. The amenities they broadcast do not reflect what is actually available. The 24 hour gym in the clubhouse is poorly maintained. None of the machines work effectively. The dog parks a filled with fences and nobody maintains them. Next, the breezeways are poorly maintained. Trash juices has soiled the concrete and nobody comes to pressure wash the breezeway at least once a month. Soiled cement is what you first see when you walk to your apartment. I attribute that mostly to “valet trash,” which you pay for monthly. However, the “valet trash” do not do their job. They come sporadically and pick and choose which apartments they pick up trash from. Furthermore, they only pick up one bag of trash, but the complex require you to place cardboard in plastic bags that should be separate from your actual trash. When they do come, they only pick up one bag of trash that is in the trash can the give to you. But if cardboard is in a trash bag and you have one bag of trash and one bag of cardboard, they won’t pick up both bags. They will skip your apartment entirely. How is that fair? We pay for services that are not being used. They want to fine people who deviate from poorly developed instructions. When you take your own trash out, the main dumpsters overflow with trash. It’s essentially a dump site. No differentiation between trash and recycling. Terrible for the environment. When you speak with the leasing office about complaints or concerns, you’re met with brute force of attitudes or no replies. It’s unprofessional and unfair to charge over 1700 dollars in rent for an apartment that does not live up to its advertisements. Check out the pictures from this morning at 6am."

"This is the condition of the Bacarra Apartments located in 6411 Farm Gate Rd, Raleigh, NC 27606. I was ensured by the staff that the reviews about a dirty property, mold issues, poor management, communication issues, and many more were by disgruntled residents. As you can see in the photos below the apartment doesn’t even look clean. There were urine stains on the toilet seat when we got the keys and checked it out. When I went to management about this issue I was informed that they do not change toilet seats when new residents move in, only when the toilet seat is broken. Management upgraded none of the appliances, and there's wear and tear on almost everything in the apartment. From the mirrors to chipped floor pieces, a pencil lodged between the floor on the island's backside. Upon relaying these issues to management, I was bombarded with argumentative hostility. In addition, the key cards given to me for the use of the amenities here didn't even work. I am waiting to hear back from the property manager Lisa as I feel this isn’t a place I feel comfortable or safe in. If I could give zero stars I would and this is only the first day. I had a similar review posted yesterday and it was deleted."
