"I recently moved out of Indigo Apartments, where my stay was generally satisfactory, so I will give them one star back. However, my decision to leave was influenced by yearly rent increases and certain policy changes that were implemented towards the end of my tenancy. These changes not only raised my expenses but also limited my choices as a resident. Initially, the complex used package lockers, which, despite occasional glitches, provided a secure way to receive deliveries. It wasn't a perfect solution, but at least I knew my packages were safe. They switched to the "Fetch package" service instead, which was a significant step back in my opinion. I encourage you to research this service and read for yourself about it. It involves rerouting packages to a warehouse prior to delivery, and there are numerous reviews concerning lost parcels. This additional step in the delivery process became a source of stress and inconvenience for me, leading me to avoid ordering valuable items online during my remaining time at the apartments. I called management and was told there was no way for me to opt out. Another required expense was the valet trash service. While it might be convenient for some, it did not align with my personal preferences. I would have preferred the option to opt out and put my trash in the dumpster myself, saving money on a service I found unnecessary. They threaten to charge a penalty if you forget to bring your empty valet trash bin back inside the next day. As someone who worked from home, I valued the reliable and reasonably priced Google Fiber internet. When my lease was up for renewal, my new lease agreement made it mandatory to pay for Charter Spectrum's internet and cable bundle, which was not only more expensive, but also included a cable service I had no use for. This lack of choice and forced increase in living costs was a significant drawback for me, so I ultimately decided to move out instead of renewing my lease. Keep in mind that policies could have changed since my departure, so I recommend inquiring about these services if you're thinking about moving here, to confirm whether anything has changed. I believe residents should have the flexibility and choice to select services that align with their individual needs, budget, and preferences."
"I lived here almost 2 years now and I used to love this apartment and leasing office first few months.. until the management has changed. There are many things that really made me unhappy about living here, but below are 3 main things. 1. I used to pay my internet service by my own. It was $35 per month, and I barely had any problem. When I renewed the lease, they said it is now mandatory that I have to use $85 per month internet service that they included in their rent. I was unhappy but accepted it expecting it will be better internet at least. However, there were so many times I had internet service outage this year, and it affected me so much because I work at home. Internet got super slow compare to last year as well... so I am not sure why I am paying higher price for this sh-ty internet. 2. Last year, pool didn't pass inspection until end of July. Which means, it wasn't opened until August. (Most of my friends' apartment opened their pools around May.) 3. My washer got broken 3 times since last year. Water overflew and whole carpet became soggy. It first happened last year summer, I called the maintenance and office, and was told they are "short staffed" and it would take time for someone to come. First I thought it will be 3-4 days delay, but I ended up waiting a WHOLE MONTH for someone to fix my washer and dryer. The whole month, I couldn't do laundry at all. So I asked them some sort of reimbursement on my rent. Every time I call the office, they said it only can be decided by their manager, and the manager was not there and not giving me responses on emails. Few times I went offices during my lunch break from work, waited so that I can finally talk to him and was told to wait so that they can decide what they can offer me. After I spent painful 2 months chasing them, I finally got the "reimbursement offer"... which was $20 discount for that month rent. I felt exhausted that I had to all this and ended up just having that $20 discount. And this September, my washer overflew AGAIN. (Surprisingly, my sink in kitchen also overflew at the same time.) This time, it was a lot of water and even my furnitures in my bedroom got damaged too. I called the office and maintenance again. Maintenance team brought a large fan (which was loud, and was not really helping the problem) to dry this SOGGY carpet and refused replacing the washer since it is working fine after that incident (But the fact it will randomly overflow water-- Yes, It makes me excited to guess whether it will overflow or not every time I do my laundry) All I was hearing from the office was just they would send/tell the maintenance team to care it although I explained carpet might need to be replaced. By that point, I already gave up on communicating with office and started looking for another apartment. When I mentioned the office I want to leave after next month, they said I still have to pay up to February- because of their 60 days notice rule and that I had to communicate better with the leasing office about my complains. When I told them my experience of communication with them in last year, she said it wasn't her, but the previous manager, (But they are from same management company???) and that if they allow me break the lease for this reason, they have to do it for other people too. Did other residents had 3 water overflow issues in their unit too? If so, I feel really sorry for them."
"Update: 9/24/23: I moved out in August 2023. Although I really loved my apartment and have lived there through four management companies. I can say Avenue5 was the worst. The new team and maintenance were amazing Frances, Ryan, Ashley and Dora were a pleasure to work with and were always on top of things. However the reason I decided to move out is the quality of the Community has went downhill over the past year. Lots of trash blowing everywhere due to bags not being picked up. I sat in my car one day and watched the trash company look at trash bags and not pick them up leaving them there overnight for bugs and cats to enjoy, and due to the crazy amount of fees that owner/management company charges if I would have chosen to renew there would have been a $85 Fee for internet and cable that you're not able to opt out of although you can get internet for less than $60 through on your own. There was also going to be a fee for packages, $10 amenities fee, almost $30 for trash (that doesn't get picked up but you will receive at lease violation for it not being picked up), pest control fee, & storm water fee. All of my rent wouldn't have increased much but tacking on almost $150 in fees was a bit much. Granted there are a lot of other companies in the area that charge the same fees, but there are also lots of communities that do not charge lots if fees. The leasing and maintenance staff are absolutely amazing and for that reason I still recommend Indigo. Update 7/11/2022: Unfortutely I did not have such a pleasant experience with the transition to High5/Avenue5. At first the transition was great but it was short lived. The maintenance has always remained amazing but the office staff was lacking. After speaking with the regional manager she informed me that they were in the process of hiring a new property manager. I haven't really met the new property manager yet, but I work in the multifamily industry and I completely understand how being short staffed and a new manager at a large property can affect a community. I've read quite a few negative reviews and I understand from the outside looking in how things can seem pretty horrible. However over the past month I have had all of my issues resolved since the new property manager has started. They have a new (I think she is new) leasing consultant Brittany in the office who is absolutely amazing . I think things are turning around for the better especially the customer service. I truly feel the property manager will do a great job at making sure Indigo turns back into a great place to live. So to the current residents reading this review please remember to show grace to office staff and maintenance team who are working diligently to fix everything that has went wrong over the past 4-5 months. They are dedicated to making things right and it shows. If you call and they don't answer send an email, they're working hard to fix your issues and will get back to you ASAP. Update 4/17/22 : The community is under new management. HIGH 5 ( I think is the name ). The maintenance staff is still amazing and prompt. I sincerely appreciate the maintenance team here. They know what they are doing and demonstrate what it means to work as a team. Donna is awesoms she's been very helpful and always provides caring friendly service. I am happy I decided to renew my lease here she helped to make the decision easy by providing great service. Great customer service can make or break apartment living. In my opinion Indigo is still one of the better older communities in the Brier Creek/Stirrup Creek area. ----------------------------------------------- Bell Partners has done a amazing job so far, and the office staff has been great during the transition. Shari the property manager is very helpful. I am excited to see what new events and changes they bring to the community. I currently live a 2 bed/2bath townhome, and it is the perfect layout for me at the current moment. I have space to have a home office downstairs in the second bedroom, and I have a huge master upstairs."
"I have been here for 5 years and highly recommend to anyone!! The apartments are all remodeled, there’s a dog park, fantastic pool area with grills and comfy couches, exercise rooms. All the amenities that you need, but most of all, the current management company is by far the best we have had in years! The staff here are so friendly, polite, respectful and maintenance is on top of any issues you may have. The upstairs apartment had a leak and they were here within 5 minutes of me reporting the problem!! Shout out to Jose, he is awesome!! Indigo is also one of the more affordable places to live in this area. Food Lion is right next store and easily walkable and there are a couple of restaurants in that same plaza, super convenient!!!"
"I've been fortunate to call this community home for the past year, and I'm currently in my second year here. I originally moved into one unit and then had the opportunity to transfer to another unit within the community. Throughout both transitions, the leasing office staff, especially Ryan, Cindy, Ashley, and Dora, have been incredibly supportive and accommodating. Their consistent dedication and excellent service have played a significant role in making my living experience at Indigo so enjoyable. One of the things that stands out to me the most is the incredible sense of community and belonging that I feel here. The residents and staff create such a welcoming and friendly atmosphere that truly makes it feel like a home away from home. Additionally, the attention to detail in the design and amenities provided enhances my overall quality of life. Whether it's relaxing by the beautifully landscaped pool, enjoying the well-equipped fitness center, or simply taking in the stunning views, every aspect of living at Indigo contributes to an exceptional and fulfilling experience."
