Reviews of Haven at Patterson Place
"Great place if you like sleeping with roaches! I should start off by saying I had such high hopes for this place. Right off the bat, the application process was a nightmare. I and three other people wanted to apply and sign the lease together, but the online application made it essentially impossible. That should have been a red flag. Eventually, we were told to fill out paper applications. Fine. Move-in day comes around and we are told that no one can move in unless everyone has signed the lease, even though three of us had to move in on different days. They don’t let us see the actual apartment, just the model. Second red flag. We scrambled to get the lease signed and eventually we all got the keys. Great. Not even a few days since move-in and we start to see roaches. We let the leasing office know and they send Terminex out to spray the unit. We wait about a week for the spray to take effect but the roaches continue to appear. I call the office again and tell them we still have roaches. They say they will schedule a follow-up with Terminex to spray again. We wait again. The roaches keep appearing. I found one INSIDE OF MY PILLOWCASE. Three of us approach one of the leasing agents and let her know that we are dissatisfied that the problem keeps occurring. She lets us know that she will have Terminex do a more thorough inspection and make any notes. Maintenance tells us that they will check for any gaps behind appliances where the roaches could get in. They installed new weatherstripping on the front door and sealed some gaps. We start to see less roaches, but they still appear. I let them know that there are gaps in my bedroom window and I believe that could be an entry point for the bugs. The gaps are large enough that cold air comes in and makes my bedroom at least 10 degrees colder than the rest of the apartment. Maintenance comes in and tells me there’s nothing they can really do about it. I tell the front office that I am dissatisfied with this answer, and their response is that I should just buy supplies myself to seal the window. They tell me that the Terminex guy concluded that there is not a roach infestation, but believes that we are probably seeing a Smoky Brown Roach (no infestation, but confirms that there are roaches… hmm…). They did at least accept my request to have the cost of supplies credited to my account, but continue offering the solution of sending someone from Terminex out to the apartment, which continues to not do anything to really fix the issue. The plastic stripping around my window is flimsy and clearly needs to be replaced, but they won’t do anything about it. We supposedly got a “renovated” apartment, but has a lot of scratches, broken pieces of countertop, and other cosmetic damages. The sliding back door is flimsy and very clearly lets bugs in. I could deal with the minor issues of appearance if it weren’t for the roaches. But topped onto everything else, it is clear that management just does not care about being honest with their renters or fixing problems. I should note that pest control is a monthly fee. They had to have known about the roaches but act as if it’s not an issue. They keep sending someone out from pest control even though it doesn’t do much. It’s unhealthy and disgusting. I should also note that my roommates and I are CLEAN. We sweep, vacuum, and mop regularly. We have very little furniture and don’t leave open food containers or heaps of dishes in the sink. The valet trash obviously makes the roach problem worse. Trash sits in front of units and attracts bugs, which of course find their way inside homes. They should do away with the valet trash. It's a waste of money and it's dirty. To make matters even worse, my roommates' CAR WAS STOLEN RIGHT OUT OF THE LOT. And, surprise, surprise, they don't have any cameras outside. None. My roommate told them his car was stolen and they didn't even consider adding cameras. They do not care. Oh, and the "car care center" is literally just one vacuum machine. I'm not even sure that it's free."
"I’ve been at this property for 2 years and this has been one of the most attentive staff I’ve ever leased with. From them getting the pool open to having mini sets ups like hot chocolate and free mini cheesecakes it’s truly a family vibe from them. 10/10 would recommend!!!!"
"I have been here over 2 years and it wasn't until Graystar took over that we got access to the pool. That is just the tip of the iceberg! The staff is the shinning star of the entire community. While I don't have the frequent need to interact with them, every time has always been a five star experience! The only reason I don't rate the community a five is because there can be improvements to things like the dog park and there is no option to rent the clubhouse. A big thank you to all the staff: Dana - Community Manager Brant - Maintenance Supervisor Danielle - Assistant Community Manager Lauren - Leasing Professional Kirk- Maintenance Tech Sam- Maintenance Tech"
"Just like the other person reviewing this place, I would give Haven 0 stars. 24 hours prior to moving in, they called and said the apartment wasn't going to be ready. We said that was not an option, since we had to be out of our apartment. Upon moving in, the apartment was trashed. The floors were covered in glass, trash and food. It was so bad that we had to use a shop vac to get everything up. We were afraid of damaging our home vacuum cleaner. On top of that there was pee in one of the toilets. The washing machine didn't work. It took 2 weeks for them to fix it. There was mold on the appliances and vents. Both sinks and showers would not drain. The kitchen sink would not drain. The garbage disposal was broken. The pool was closed with no signage until I complained about it. My daughter swam in the pool 4 times before someone told her that the water wasn't being treated. The gate to the pool was unlocked. The kitchen was infested with roaches. The lights in the kitchen and living room did not work. There was trash in the stairwells constantly. Dana and Lisa always blamed the residents. On top of the trash, there would be roaches on the stairs. The valet trash is just another way to get more money out of the residents! To get all of the items resolve took numerous phone calls to Lisa Crawford and Dana. Upon moving out, they charged us for cleaning the refrigerator. It just needed minor cleaning on the bottom of the refrigerator. They charged us $60. They have valet garbage. Upon moving out, they charged us $50 for the bags that were left outside of the apartment. Everything was bagged. My daughter's cat did minor damage (Dana's words) to the carpeting that they were able to repair. They charged us $42.50 for that. I spoke with both Dana and Lisa Crawford about charging us for the minor issues when the apartment was received in a very different state. The condition we left the apartment was 100 times better than the condition we received it. I tried speaking with both Dana and Lisa about the charges. They both feel the charges were justified. Lisa and Dana are hypocrites! They can turn over an apartment to new renters in ANY condition without any financial implications. But when you move out.. look out! Dana dont bother responding unless you are going to rectify the charges. I have heard enough of your meaningless words! Like I told Lisa today... I hope that your daughter, mother or someone else they care about doesn't get treated the way, you have treated my daughter!"
"DO NOT RENT HERE. I would give zero stars, but that isn't an option. If this is the quality of Greystar Properties, stay away!! As you will see from multiple posts dating back almost a year, these issues have been persistent. When I personally spoke to management (Dana), she said she was unaware of any issues with the property. I sent the attached pictures to management (Dana) and have received no response. Everything Manu (and others) shared below is still happening and worse: 1. Pest infestation in units (roaches, worms, pill bugs, spiders, etc.) to the point of being uninhabitable. 2. Trash all over the property (under stairs, on the grass, in the wooded areas, parking lots). 3. Overflowing trash at the dumpster. Management (Dana) will say the compactor doesn’t work. (The compactor works, I literally saw an employee using it). 4. Walk ways and stairs smell like urine. 5. Exterior light flicker, strobe or just don't work. 6. Road kill in the parking lot for weeks. 7. Feces and dirt on the walls. 8. They bait and switch their rental agreements. 9. Mailboxes are broken and the trash next to them is overflowing to the point where you have to scare off rodents. 10. Old/broken down cars are in spots all over the property. 11. Dirty apartment upon move in and broken appliances (just one of many issues as you can see) 12. Management (Dana) is unresponsive and very unprofessional. Management (Dana) tell you "pest control sprays every Wednesday." With the trash and roadkill constantly present, there is no amount of spraying that will help. "We're working on it" is their standard response to everything. DO NOT RENT HERE."
