"I moved in New Years Day and for the most part I have had a good experience here at the Ramsey. All of the issues I have had at the property have been resolved with communication with the Dejah in the leasing office. Since I am new to Durham I have leaned on Dejah as a tour guide to the city and enjoyed her events that she has planned in the community. I feel at home here at the Ramsey and it is truly due to her efforts with not just me, but others in the community as well. So if you are looking for a place to live in downtown Durham, stop by and see Dejah in the leasing office. You won't be disappointed!!!!"
"Ok so I always wait at least 3 months to leave a review after moving into a new mid-rise / lux building and I have to say, I couldn't wait to pass my "probationary" period to leave my review! Overall, The Ramsey is a lovely building and community. The design is chic, cleaning happens daily by the sweetest lady, and the maintenance crew are timely and professional men (which I super appreciate). The Pros: — The Ramsey was the first complex I visited over a last minute, rainy Memorial Day weekend so I was so appreciative of Dejah accommodating my tight schedule to view the property. She was incredibly attentive about listening to and taking into account my non-negotiables, and only showed me units she knew would match my liking. I appreciated her respecting my time, giving an incredible tour, and communicating everything I needed to make a quick decision. — Dejah is by far one of the best leasing consultants / property managers I've ever worked with. I already trusted the Bell Partners name having lived in several Bell managed properties previously, but having her as a resource overseeing and maintaining the quality of the building—and its social events!—is a breath of fresh air! Whoever hired her deserves a promo and so does she! I don't know if I'd feel the same about the building without her management style, leadership and professionalism. I just know when I call or email, I don't have to worry or guess. She'll handle whatever is needed or answer my question with grace and poise. — The amenities—specifically the yoga studio, fitness center, solarium and cafe area downstairs—are all lovely. Bonus is the massage treatment room which I've used several times since moving in, booking is easy! The Cons: — The property DESPERATELY needs to install Luxer One for packages. The package room is a hot mess, and worse than that, you never know if you have a package unless you go downstairs and sift through the mountain of boxes and Amazon orders everyday. single. day. (who's got time for that?!) I had a surprise delivery of flowers that sat downstairs for A WEEK because there's no notification system that you have a package. I guess in the age of amazon and tracking numbers, the building owners forgot people mail things to people as gifts/surprises?! It's a major pain point I wouldn't expect in a luxury building and I can only imagine what it's going to look like come holiday season. Management team email blasts to alert residents to pick up packages but isn't an effective or efficient approach, especially if you don't even know you have a package. — Security. There is none. And anyone can access any floor of the building, including the amenities and parking, without actually living here. I didn't notice while on my tour, but after moving in and encountering multiple people on property who were not residents or accompanied by one, I don't feel as safe as I should here, or how I would at competitor properties nearby. I hope the building owners will install key fob access on the elevators and parking permits (with towing) in the garages. The area is still gentrifying and it's just not smart to not have these measures in order. —Beyond repairing or fixing but worth mentioning that should you choose The Ramsey be ready to hear every step of your neighbors above you. The floors are not concrete! Despite some major, but fixable, hangups, I'm enjoying my stay at The Ramsey so far!"
"Loved my time at the Ramsey! Originally had some trouble moving in last year due to construction but the staff was able to accommodate and move us into a different unit until ours was ready. Once I moved into the 3 bedroom everything was great! We were on the 5th floor with a great view, amazing sunsets and could even see the Durham Bulls fireworks. Now that all the amenities are up and running, I definitely recommend checking this place out. Workout room is great and the maintenance staff is the best!"
"My wife and I just finished up residency at Duke and have lived in 4 different apartment complexes in downtown Durham between the two of us. The Ramsey is by far the best maintained in terms of amenities and a responsive, helpful and friendly staff. In a great location by the ballpark with rent prices slightly below it's competitors in the area without sacrificing any quality. If you're moving to the area looking for a place downtown, save yourself the trouble and move here."
