"Upset would be an understatement. I spoke to Debbie previously before I even left Ohio about a 2bedroom for my children and I went in and did an application towards the end of July when we arrived here in Charlotte with a lady by the name of Debbie took my voucher app fee and everything I needed that I had on hand . She told me they would have a 2bdr available the 1st week of October and my credit score wouldn’t matter also if anything came back it could be override by regional but could take a few hours to a few days to come back . After weeks and weeks of calling and no response I finally caught up with Debbie she named a few things that was on my credit that I had no knowledge of! But also I forgot my identity was stolen during COVID ! . She asked me questions then reassured me that she was sending it to regional to override and that I would be ok it would take a week . Mind you my kids and I have been in Charlotte homeless . She told me to give her a call that Friday and I did but some guy answered and said she left early . So Monday came I called multiple times before I got an answer and it was Debbie ! She told me she never sent it to regional because she just new they wouldn’t override it and she wasn’t sure when a 2bedroom would even be Available.When I say my heart fell to the ground and tears started to fall i immediately panicked and started asking her why she lied to me and told me all this false information . She didn’t have anything to say really but that I had to get proof of the stuff on my credit from the court house thats all the way in Ohio ! Witch what she said was a balance of $773 from apartment complex that came on my credit of August of this year mind you . I haven’t even lived in that complex since 2015 and at the time I wasn’t even paying rent because I was unemployed and section 8 paid my full rent . She also said something about a credit card balance and I’ve never even had a credit card! Found out my mom added me to help raise my credit . Debbie told me well if I was you I would tell her to take you off because that’s why i didn’t get approved! I even had my mom send paper work to prove that It was her and that she did take me off . At this point I feel extremely defeated lied to and played with by Debbie a leasing consultant at Hill-rock estates . My mother is a property manager so she told me to call the corporate management company and I did I spoke to 2 people gave them my complaint and was told Steve and Amanda was over the property and would give me a call that I’m still waiting to get .. I work 2 jobs ! With a section 8 voucher no evictions ! Ever in my 32 years of life . I feel like I let my children down because of the lies told to me from Debbie at hillrock estates . Talk about a very sad unfortunate situation I am in a single mother of 2 kids who moved 400 miles away for a job opportunity thinking i would be moving into a Apartment I was told I would have to now being homeless for over a month now heart breaking completely"

"Submitted an application last August. Was told to expect to hear something back in 2-4 wks. After hearing nothing, I followed up and was told my application was pending with compliance. Still have not heard anything as far as approval or denial in regards to my application. I wasted my time and money on an application fee."

"I’m going to start by saying it takes ALOT for me to write reviews! But my experience here has been so horrendous that if I can help 1 person avoid this place then it’ll be worth it. I’m currently 2.5 months into my lease and regret my move here everyday. If most of you are like me, you’re considering this place based on price and location. Price - For accurate budgeting, expect the high end of the price range on their website. If the unit you want says $760-$905…expect to pay $905 PLUS the mandatory cable fee of $85 each month leaving you at $990, not incl your water usage. Location - you’re in the hood. Simple and plain. Maintenance - my maintenance guy and I know each other on a first name basis at this point. Literally since day 1 I’ve submitted work orders for numerous issues. Bugs / AC x 4 / water leaks etc. Out of frustration I even reached out to the housing authority to file a complaint. Most of these units are just outdated and overpriced. Staff (Corporate) - the staff is cool when can catch them. They never answer the phone and there’s always a new face in the office so I know the turnover is high. They’re also always on edge from dealing with irate tenants daily. **They’re also shady as hell! Recently they randomly increased their mandatory coverage for renters insurance from 100k to 300k but that’s not the kicker. If the change isn’t made to your policy in a week then they’re going to charge a $500 fee!!! And they conveniently left that part out of the notice. Luckily I asked and they told me.** Amenities - the updated units are nice. The gym is only open during business hours so if work a M-F 8-5 good luck. Haven’t made it to the pool yet. In my unbiased opinion, this place is going to be worth the price or the stress. Avoid if you can, or you’re going to be up at 6am writing a lengthy review in efforts to warn the next soul."

"I could start from long ago but i will not blunder folks with a long story so I'll keep it short. You will pay for services not received and given the run around about things that are not true. Management doesn't care about you. Was told that I could pay a $600 deposit bond which would cover me for $2000 to move in fine I did it but in the end I found out that was only to protect the apartment but no fees whatsoever. I wasn't told this by management but by the company that offered it. Had I known I'd pay the full security deposit of $1400 to cover anything just in case things went bad and it did. Look at the pictures below. I left my apart in spotless condition. This place is filled with trash. Do Not rent from them! Another thing the place under the stairs almost always smelled like urine and had beer bottles also"
