Reviews of 808 Hawthorne
"I'm not one to write reviews, but after the service I received I decided to do one. I came in checking availability, pricing, etc, and a young lady name DJ assisted me. She was exceptional. Very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. And i just wanted to say Thank you for a amazing customer service experience. Because these days no one knows good customer service anymore. So thank you DJ."
"I moved in last month and have not had any issues. I live on the 1st floor and it is very quite inside and out. Sunnyside Dr. is right out my side door. I can take the free trolley to the center of uptown. There are plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance. Harris Teeter is about a half mile away. Dianna, Sydney and DJ have been very helpful in getting me set up with parking permits, access to the secure package room, and anything that I needed to feel at home. Please consider 808 Hawthorne if you are moving to Plaza Midwood!"
"I am back again writing another review because I really hope I can save a future renter from living in the worst complex in plaza midwood. This complex still hasn't responded to a single one of my emails, the people working at the desk just say "im not sure i will have to wait for a manager" and then don't know when the manager is working. My dryer just broke, they didn't actually make any repairs for the flood damage, and I have been living without smoke detectors in my unit since October because they haven't come back to fix them. Really great living in unsafe living conditions. I will be trying to terminate my lease as soon as possible."
"I am writing this review because I hope that someone sees it and avoids living at this apartment complex. Open a new tab right now and look up "Elizabeth square apartments" and go apply there. I will start with the good because its short. The location is great. The maintenance staff has been surprisingly helpful. Okay now to all the reasons to not live here. The price you see is obviously not what youre paying. Expect to pay $300 more than what they advertise. I have lived in this apartment since July of 2022. To begin they rushed me into moving in claiming they could only hold an apartment for like 3 days or something ridiculous. So when I moved in, there was painters tape in every room, probably about a third of the lights had dead bulbs, the dryer machine was not hooked up, I didn't have a trash can, and it smelled horrible. They never gave me a pre lease damage assessment of the unit so I never got to write all of the damages down which I'm sure they will charge me with then I leave in July. The building always smells like trash because of the Valet trash system. They finally built a package storage room but don't get excited its a $5 "package acceptance fee". They recently got rid of guest parking and made all of the pretty much best parking spaces "reserved" for a fee. If you have gotten this far please don't give this place money. Next, 2 floors above me, the apartment left the washer on and it malfunctioned and it leaked all the way down to my unit. Luckily I was home so as water began to leak from every single ceiling fixture in my apartment I began catching water in anything I had. This went on for about an hour. Finally I ran down to the leasing office because oh yeah there is no cell service within the units because its built like a giant cinder block. So my electricity cut out because of the flood and so i could not make a phone call because no wifi = no phone. It takes 2.5 hours for "emergency maintenance" to come. Once the flood stops they tell me that a damage assessment team will be coming by to see what repairs need to be done, they never came. I sent 3 emails requesting the management to engage in repairs and did not hear back. A month went by where i lived without smoke detectors, I spent 3 days without electricity, in my whole unit, i spent the whole month without a light in my laundry room, and the whole time I lived with wet dry wall which is proven to cause raspatory issues. After my 4th email a repair team came and said they would come do repairs when I was out of town for thanksgiving. I come home and it is clear as day they simply painted over all of the damage. There is a massive water damage line on the ceiling and they still have not replaced the smoke detectors. I have been living in an unsafe unit since Oct 21 and the management has never once responded to my emails. So this is me trying to hopefully get this horrible apartment complex to actually respond to my email. Or maybe I will have a legal team send them a letter"
"We've lived here for about 4 years, but it's definitely not worth the money. Recently we've had a kitchen sink problem, but they haven't fixed it after we've requested to fix it many times over half a year. Whenever upstairs use a kitchen sink or food disposal, our sink makes the sound and stinks like sewer. I'm working remotely so I always attend video meetings right next the balcony where is furthest from the kitchen, I hear the sound so I have to mute. We even heard the sound from our bedroom a few days ago when we were sleeping, which made me want to put a review here finally. Also, although we never put food in a sink (There is no food disposal in where I grew up so it's disgusting to me), when we run water, water comes back like a picture. By the way, they keep saying "because there are many people moving in and out." You don't want to live here unless living in this area is just convenient for you."
