"We just moved out after living here for two years and overall, we loved it! Here's a Gilmore girls style pro / con list if you're wanting to move to the Sedgefield Marsh Properties duplexes. Pros: - CHEAP rent for the area! We had a 2 bed / 1 bath duplex with a front porch for $1100. - The maintenance team and the leasing office staff were some of the nicest, most informative and helpful people ever! Though we ran into a small handful of maintenance issues in our two years, they were always super responsive and quick to fix the issue. - A lot of the units have wood flooring. - There are a bunch of windows! If natural light is your thing, this is a great place to live. - Spacious front and back yards + front porches on many units. This was great in the spring and fall. - Beautiful, giant trees make you feel like you're living far outside the city. However, they're a little nerve racking during the storm seasons. - SUPER walkable neighborhood. Multiple restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores, and breweries are a short walk away. You can also walk to the train pretty quick. - Long, off street driveways. - It's a super cute neighborhood and I always felt safe. - Short term lease. Every lease is 6 months and then month-to-month (with no uncharge) after that. This made our current move super convenient because we only had to give them a 30 day move out notice. Cons: - Giant trees. Though also a pro, they definitely gave us a scare a few times. We've seen a couple of duplexes and cars crushed this year. - The walls are thin. If you're concerned about noise, this might not be the best place for you depending on your neighbors. - Laundry hookups are in the kitchen. We went to the laundromat in Dilworth for two years to save kitchen space. Though we didn't mind it, I understand it could be a deal breaker for some. - No dishwasher or microwave included. - A lot of the power outlets aren't grounded and they're mostly 2 prong. We had 4 grounded outlets in our entire home. - Cockroaches are an issue. However, this seems to be a widespread issue throughout Sedgefield / Park Road / Madison Park. If you have a cat, you're golden! - Construction can get a little loud or annoying to drive around at times. They're doing a major redevelopment in the neighborhood for the next few years. It isn't a dealbreaker in my opinion, but a slight annoyance. We had planned to stay here for the original 6 month lease, but ended up staying for two years because we loved the area / our cute little home so much. Though it's not the right place for everyone, it's great if you go into it with clear expectations of what you're getting. They're definitely not like the luxury apartments you find in South End, but they're quaint, comfy, and super adorable. All in all, I highly recommend it."
"I've lived here for a year now, and I absolutely love everything about it. Though the apartments are older, they are very well laid out and very homey. The neighborhood is to die for. You are so close to everything, and it's extremely safe. It's a very safe and quiet little neighborhood. I've enjoyed living here so much. I've not had to call maintenance much, but when I do, it's immediate service. Always same day. You can always reach the leasing office via phone or email, and they are amazing to work with."
