"LATEST UPDATE 2/12: Changing my review due to Greystar's wonderful team and review character limit. After Giddy Hall's property management changed to Greystar, I called immediately as I've known that I've wanted to move here for many months and didn't want my move to fall through. I couldn't afford the rent anywhere else for the same quality of living at Giddy Hall. Mackenzie and Katie worked with me every step of the way while providing great customer service and easing my transition between MyNiche's staff and protocols and their own. They understood I was taking a huge step moving from NY to CLT and wanted to help as much as possible. When I started to sense that this team was trustworthy, I took a chance and changed my lease from 12 months to 14. Before I was hesitant due to the MyNiche team, but the Greystar team has made me feel that comfortable. There have been added expenses like renter's insurance being necessary (which I was going to get anyway) and valet trash/pest control, but they'll make the community more safe and clean for everyone involved. Valet trash is 5 days a week, and dumpsters are emptied regularly. The maintenance team also has more staff now, which means more work orders can be serviced. Trying to get a parking spot next to your building can be a pain, but that's not a huge problem. They've been doing resident events at least once a month since I arrived. There have been some bumps along the road with online systems, but those are kinks that'll be worked out. Giddy Hall is also now doing apartment tours with a staff member, instead of the self-guided tours from previous management which is a lot less personal. You can hear a lot outside sounds on the streets from inside the unit, but it’s overall still a quiet community. This staff really cares, and you cannot at all go wrong renting here. It's a dream for a first apartment. I’m loving my apartment, balcony, and the gym (which has an Echelon bike!). UPDATE: After about 2 weeks of prior management not answering my calls/emails and neglecting to give any transparency, Giddy Hall’s property management has changed from MyNiche to Greystar as of 12/29/23. As a result, the staff has changed as well. Any thoughts about the property as a prospective applicant remain the same, but application/rental fees have changed. The website has a different design, but all of the same sections aside from a new virtual tour option. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I live in New York and am moving to Charlotte in the next few months, so my friend and I visited in June to look at apartments. Giddy Hall is the first one we visited, right after getting off the plane since it's fairly close to the airport. The community was very beautiful on the outside and inside, but small, which I didn't particularly love. I like having a lot of space in a neighborhood to walk around, so I would probably have to walk out of the complex or go to a nearby park if I wanted to do that. I had a tour scheduled, and was super surprised when I arrived and Krystal (the Property Manager) said it was a self-guided tour. She did however do a quick tour of the clubhouse and outside, although we couldn't see the pool because it was closed due to inspection. By the way, the pool is TINY since part of it includes a platform to submerge into it, and it's not big enough for all the residents. But then my friend and I entered the apartment and were blown away by the interior. We were freaking out over how beautiful it was and were able to take our time looking; I still think it's nice to have someone telling you more about certain details though. The model, which has the floorplan I'm interested in (B1), was beautifully-designed, had brand new stainless steel appliances, spacious bathrooms and walk-in closets for each bedroom, NO double vanities, so much cabinet/drawer space, and a nice patio overlooking Steele Creek Road (you won't necessarily get that view though). And the location of the complex itself not being too far from Rivergate Mall and Charlotte Premium Outlets really can't be beat."
"I moved to Giddy Hall last month right after Greystar began managing the property and I will say I LOVE it here! The leasing office staff is so friendly and accommodating. The maintenance staff is very thorough and keeps the grounds very well kept, I especially love Ash! The apartments are brand new and absolutely stunning, and come with a FULL SIZE washer and dryer as well as a dishwasher which is amazing. And they have valet trash which I love. Overall it's been a great experience so far, and they are hosting a resident event tonight, (its margaritas with quest.. YUM) so I will keep this review updated!"
"Parking is the worst, dog poop is all over the property, probably because the dog trash can is over flowing and stinks the entire area it’s in. And when you complain about anything they will dig in your lease and find reasons to discredit you and try to fine you, instead of trying to fix it as you can see From their responses they will try to see if your a lease holder and tell you your in violation! Edit I am a lease holder but using a screen name because they will try to pick with you and dig into your lease and look for reasons to fine you"
"I am happy I bought a blink camera. This is the second time that giddy hall has done an “inspection” and left my door unlocked, and it’s not ok at all. I called the office twice, the first time with no answer. I had to leave work, go home and lock my door which I would have never had to do if I wasn’t ignored by the male with the my niche hat and keys, lady with the orange shirt, and the lady with a black shirt when speaking through the microphone on my camera (which works because I tested it when I got home). I called again to inform them and spoke to Krystal, while she apologized it seemed like it was a brush off the shoulder. There is a lot of people that come to these apartments that don’t live here, especially on my floor. How do you expect people to feel safe? What if I didn’t work 10 minutes away and someone would have went into my apartment? Also, we weren’t even informed of who would be going into our apartments in the first place, I’ve never seen the two women or the young man before today. Next time in the email I think we should be informed as to who will be entering our apartment’s. I was never going to leave a review, but today pissed me off. I’m leaving 2 stars because it’s not a horrible place to live. But the “inspection” issue, limited parking for residents, dog feces being left around, trash and spider webs on steps, loud music from neighbors in the morning is a lot to deal with the amount of rent we pay. I recommend when moving here get some type of camera, outside and inside."
