"In all my years of living off campus for college this was hands down the worst. First day me and my roommates arrived we get our run down, understanding of the leases, all of that stuff before getting our keys. One of the biggest reasons we even chose these apartments were because of the affordability. We specifically asked about utilities and were told by the people working the apartments that utilities are not a part of our rent. We get into October and all of a sudden The View wants to charge utilities now and it’s because a “higher up”. The people running the view are unorganized so don’t be surprised when you end up seeing random fees, but when you ask about them its “sorry we’ll get those taken off”. I feel this place tries seeing what they can get away to get any extra money out of you they can. I don’t recommend this place over other housing to all the college students but I definitely do understand because it’s “affordable”."

"The View is the worst place I have ever lived in. The ventilation is moldy and the AC unit does not work. I have asked the emergency maintenance several times to fix it, but they never show up or do anything. The apartment is hot, humid, and smelly. I can’t breathe or sleep well. The management is rude and unprofessional. They don’t care about the tenants or their problems. They only care about collecting the rent and charging extra fees. They never answer the phone or reply to emails. They are always making excuses and blaming others. The complex is dirty and unsafe. There are bugs, rodents, and stray animals everywhere. I don’t feel secure or comfortable here. The View is a nightmare to avoid. It is not worth the money or the hassle. It is not a home, but a hell. Do yourself a favor and stay away from The View. You will regret it if you don’t."

"This is the worst place to live off campus. I was literally begging for bare minimum. While still on the lease during all the “renovations” most of my shoes stolen and door was left unlocked all Summer coming back from Charlotte trying to make a little extra income. Was promised all these renovations and all they did was trash my apartment. They called and said they were ready for me to move in to a new unit day 1 of the new apartment I didn’t have a stove to cook with and a washing machine also wash my clothes in that was working. Then during the summer they trashed my entertainment center. I broke my lease and paid over 500 to do so and still owed them money because of some insurance stuff. But they told me they were going above and beyond but I ended up getting my shoes stolen, entertainment center trashed, no renovations, no stove, no washer. Literally the worst apartment you could chose from in Pembroke. I was told I was giving the staff a hard time but they just wanted me to put up with all the mess and just take it. Do not beg for bare minimum living, pay the little extra for good service. Paying cheaper rent is not within it 590 for that come on be for real."
