Reviews of Pata Cafe
"This cafe is located at the end of a residential block, and I could never think it's a restaurant there. This place looks like a convenience store with rustic art installation. In fact, they do sell lottery tickets here!! The store has a mosaic wall of scrap wood, an array of objects like you find in a museum that includes buckets, silverware, books, statues of the Buddhas, and some plants. The food doesn't look like it includes a ton of ingredients but is packed with a punch of flavor. We asked for spicy and we didreceived it, one person at the table wasn't able to handle it, and that one person wasn't me. This michelin guide restaurant was run by an older lady by herself. We tried 2 entrees, 2 appetizers, and a cold coffee, all of which were amazing. If you are in Queens and want to get some great Thai food in a NYC residential neighborhood, look no further. It's much easier to find street parking here!"
"Really delicious Thai food. Even the Thai tea is excellent. Pity that they only have 3 tables and that is cash only"
"Thai food in an inconspicuous place and neighbourhood 40.732623 -73.876791 this 10-seat Thai restaurant in a residential area of Elmhurst, Queens became world-famous for its Michelin 2019-2022 Bib Gourmand and a good review in the New York Times. It is not a fancy place but a very practical one-room café and kitchen. No alcohol and no napkins. Restroom is the staff’s restroom. Only cash and Venmo are accepted. In June 2023, we ordered Ga Prao Kai Dow: spicy beef with bird’s eye chili, holy basil topped with a fried egg and served over jasmine rice. While we were waiting briefly, a man and woman at the next table were telling each other their life stories. Fortunately, the service was quick. The beef with chili was not too hot and tasted excellent. Staff did a good job with limited command of the English language. Pata Café serves excellent Thai food in an inconspicuous place and neighbourhood. Recommended."
"I had the drunken noodles and a large Thai iced tea to share. The noodles were perfectly spiced and delicious! I like that the Thai iced tea wasn't too sweet. The portion sizes were just right and the service was very fast. Totally recommend coming here for a visit, it's not that far of a stroll from the busy Queens Boulevard."
