"New York dining is expensive, we know this, and the quality and portions have gone down, rents are through the roof and profit margins for restaurants have plummeted. So restaurants must do what they can to survive. Understandable. But! We went to this place today, we had come from far, we were in queens for a great authentic Thai meal. This place is close to many other Thai places, we deliberated carefully and finally walked into this one. We got 4 dishes, nothing tasted right! The sauces didn't strike a balance and tasted off, the savory things were way too sweet, everything was greasy, even the white rice. We felt queasy afterward. It was yet another disappointment, only a fantasy of great Thai food. Two questions still remain in my mind, 1. why were so many people there and 2. how does this place have 4.6 rating? I will never know, what I do hope is that people like us will be spared. P.s. Thank you to the servers, the service was great."
"I’ve been wanting to go here for years, and it did not disappoint. Not only was the food *amazing,* the service was impeccable. Our waitress recommend the best dishes and desserts and told us all about the restaurant and Thailand. She knew it was my first time there and how excited I was to try the food, so I feel like she made my experience extra special. I wish this restaurant wasn’t so far from where my husband and I live because I’d go back every day."
"Local fan of their pork skewers(aka Moo Ping). From randomly getting burnt meat to expecting to get it every time. I love charred grilled but not all the tips of 5 skewers got black burnt."
"On my journey to find a go to Thai Spot and sadly this wasn’t going to be it. Ambience: Industrial vibes with old world sewing machine tables. I loved it. It was quickly ruined when not one but two tables were sticky and there was food still on them. I understand if it’s busy but there was no one inside on a Tuesday mid-day. We ordered the Kao Moo Dang, Mixed Seafood Noddles, and the Kao Pod Tod. The Kao Moo Dang essentially is a sampler served with rice and a broth. The crispy pork could have been so much better. It was served at room temperature. Nothing on the plate felt like it touched a hot pan or at least and oven. There was a sliced pork in an overly sweet sauce. The sausage was nice but needed to be warm. The broth was the highlight. The mixed seafood noodle was weird. Each component had a different flavor. The shrimp was tasty but the squid was chewy and felt old. The scallop was over cooked and chewy. The noodles were mushy and tasted weird. This isn’t my first rodeo with Thai food and this wasn’t the usual flavors. The Kao Pod Tod was good. It’s corn fried in batter. My SO decided to pass on desert and she really wanted to enjoy the pandan pancake but it was unfortunately not something that’s freshly made. It’s just in a container sitting at the desk. The waitress and cashier were polite and friendly. Unfortunately this will not be a repeat. From all the reviews I expected better. I wanted it to be my close go to Thai spot. The hunt continues."
"Actually I came to Khao Nom so many times for takeout. Mostly i buy their desserts but they also selling food. Today i decide to try plus my friend tell me the food is pretty good. I order crispy pork belly with Chinese broccoli medium spicy ( this place makes food as Thai spicy level so if you order very spicy it is crazy spicy, lol) food came very fast. I just to go inside to order by myself but they serve the food to my table. They only accept cash or zelle."
