Banfield Pet Hospital

"As a Banfield customer I am so disappointed how they have changed the appointment to drop offs only, there is no more you going into a room with your pet to discuss their health and concerns, now you have to drop off for 3+ hours. I think this is unfair as a pet owner and especially if your appointment is on the weekend your day is pretty much done for a 20min visit but you have to wait half of a day, I am sure Banfield makes more with pet drop off's. Because more pets can seen. This is no more pet care and has become a factory with no care. Banfield do better!"

"I set an appointment for 3:30pm and my appointment was changed to 9:30am without being notified because they didn’t have an updated phone number on file. (Even though they have my email, the same one used for my account). So when drove an hour and 30 minutes to my 3:30 appointment, the lady working the counter, who I believes name is Anita or something similar was very condescending and rude for our entire interaction even before she looked up my information. Seems like I’m not the only one to have issues with their online scheduling and when I called the next closes store they said that they have no such issues and don’t understand why this happened to me. I cannot begin to express how much I DO NOT RECCOMEND this location, it must be a bad apple because I’ve never had issues at all with any Banfield in the past anywhere in the country. Will be making an appointment at a different location that will actually help me and my pets."

"I recently had an unfortunate experience at the Banfield Pet Hospital in Wake Forest, and I feel compelled to share my disappointment. While I appreciated the hospital's assistance with my pet's health travel certification, my overall experience was marred by several concerning incidents. First and foremost, I was dismayed by the way I and my pet were treated by Dr. Valentine. Despite the hospital's assistance with the health travel certification, Dr. Valentine's demeanor was consistently degrading and dismissive. As a pet owner, I expect to be treated with respect and understanding, especially when seeking medical care for my beloved companion. Furthermore, I was appalled when the hospital attempted to illegally withhold my dog until I settled my account. This action was particularly distressing considering that I observed other pet owners not receiving the same treatment. It is unacceptable for a medical facility to engage in such discriminatory practices. Additionally, the lack of communication from the hospital staff was profoundly disappointing. I was not informed about my drop-off appointment, and as a result, my sick pet was left waiting for hours without receiving the necessary care. Adequate communication is essential in any medical setting, and the hospital's failure in this regard had a direct impact on my pet's well-being. After my experience, I was disheartened to learn that others had similarly negative encounters at THIS particular location of Banfield, but felt they had no alternative options. It is deeply concerning to hear that others have had to endure subpar treatment due to a lack of viable alternatives in the area. In conclusion, my experience at the Banfield Pet Hospital in Wake Forest was: disrespectful treatment, questionable practices, and inadequate communication. I hope that the hospital takes these concerns seriously and works to improve its standards of care and customer service in the future. Pet owners should be able to trust that their companions will receive compassionate and professional care, and unfortunately, my experience fell short of this expectation."

"I'm so surprised by the amount of negative reviews because this is one of the more caring Banfield Hospitals I've been to. The staff are so calm and welcoming. As someone with a geriatric pup, they took so much care with her. Dr. E is very, very thorough, detail-oriented, and explained everything about our dog's appointment today. Even the front desk staff are very welcoming. They also had many other senior dogs that day coming in, so that made me feel a lot better bringing my old doggo in for the first time. Again, very thorough and I really appreciated the level of time and care they gave to my baby during her comprehensive. Definitely coming back."

"First let me say, I've been a long time banfield customer. Things used to be so much better. However, since COVID, my experiences have not been positive. This is more of a business model now than care for your pets. We had an issue, but the vet was only equipped to read from a script. She was unable to offer any advice and was very condescending. Changed vets that very same week and the new vet listened, offered suggestions, made a plan, and now things are so much better. I have seen improvement in just a month. Find vets that care. My interactions were more consistent with just being a number. No interactions, no thought or care. Get you in, take your money and get you out. When you ask clarification questions, they are annoyed and act like you are bothering them. I will say the front desk staff are phenomenal as are their techs. However, the vets seem less than enthusiastic about their job. I wanted better for my furry friends."
