"Nice neighborhood spot for a date or wine tasting with friends. The wine list is extensive with intriguing options from Greece, Sicily, etc in addition to the usual suspects. Food is also very good and portion sizes are large. The chicken liver mousse, mushroom vol-au-vent (pictured here) and ribeye (pictured here) stole the show for us. Would definitely return here."
"We had such a great meal at LaLou. The wine list is vast, and all of the appetizers and entrees were really excellent. Standouts were the endive salad and the pastry, followed by the steak. Each was perfectly prepared and quite memorable. The deserts were less memorable in comparison - good, but not great. But we wouldn’t hesitate to return, this was one of our favorite meals of the summer."
"Most accommodating and considerate staff on Vanderbilt in Brooklyn Heights. This staff can tell you anything you need or want to know about food, drink and life in general. They celebrate the small stuff and the big with style and grace. They hire only the best on the bar, I’m the kitchen & on the floor -from all walks of life. Cheers y’all, and stay hydrated!!"
"LaLou is a cute little restaurant in Crown Heights, with a nice ambiance and cute bar area. They are focused on natural wines and small dishes for accompanying them. I did get a glass of wine, but I was, as usual, more interested in the food, which was the bast part of the experience. The standout were the olives, that came seasoned with some interesting spices and the cured mackerel, with an abundance of flavor in the sauces and the fish was just melting in the mouth. An overall nice experience, hopefully I will return someday!"
"The menu is simple, focused and extremely delicious. Paired with their eclectic wine menu from Eastern Europe and beyond, making it an excellent neighborhood spot or worthy restaurant destination. Ambiance and hospitality also always wonderful."
