"Review for Cowboy on the Lake: Visited in September 2023. After being seated, waited 2 hours for our food. During that time, we wandered back and forth between inside and outside and then suddenly, were stopped from returning to the outdoor area by someone collecting a cover for the band. Our waitress was kind enough to ask the "door person" to let us continue to enjoy the outdoor area while we waited but 2 in our party paid the cover fee before we asked for that privilege. The owner/manager is boisterous and critical of his staff which was audible to patrons. The food was mediocre."
"If I could give zero stars I would. Before my friends and I even walked in, the bouncer (a white male) was already making racist remarks. Speaking Chinese as we stood to the side to get our money out. If this is how you want your business to be represented then shame on you. Needless to say we took our business else where. Will be warning friends and family about this place. Sadly this is not the first time poc have experienced micro aggression / racism here if you read other reviews."
"The only redeeming quality was the friendly staff. The place was in desperate need of repair and updates. The drinks were expensive and small. They didn't even serve tap water, had to buy their $3 bottles, and no outside drinks allowed. Had to pay a cover (was a weekend night). I didn't see a single non-white person there, and the "dress code" seemed overtly discriminatory. I will never go again, no would I ever recommend this place (unless it's to recommend NOT to go)."
"The drinks were good and bartender was nice. If you keep up with modern day country, you’ll enjoy the music. You need a flashlight to use the bathroom. It’s uncomfortably dark and honestly I don’t get what kind vibe they’re going for."
"I went here at around 11:30PM on a Saturday for a wedding after party. I was really taken aback by the dress code to the establishment which seemed discriminatory. Myself and several others stayed for one drink and then left because we felt the environment was not friendly towards people of color. Not sure whether or not this vibe is intentional, but I think the establishment needs to rethink their dress code signs outside and the art on the walls inside to make the bar a more welcoming environment for all people."
