"I like this spot to park for access to the Tobacco Trail, location is nice as it is about 5 miles up from the beginning of the trail and many more miles the other way to Durham. The facilities here are not very nice, the bathrooms really can smell bad as they are just holes in the ground or something like that. No water available here for anything. Lastly, the parking lot can be unsafe as people break into cars, it happened to me once. Parking lot is big and you can usually always find a spot."
"My car and 3 other cars had our windows smashed in from someone trying to rob our cars though there was nothing in plain sight to steal. The police told us that this is a frequent occurrence during the summer. I would caution you against from using this ATT entrance."
"My favourite trail in all of the Triangle. Serene, quiet, immersive and always at least 5 degrees cooler because of the canopy that envelops you"
"A good place for those in NW Cary NC to pick up the American Tobacco Trail. It's flat, it has plenty of parking, and it has restrooms, though NO water. There is a water fountain 1.25 miles south at the next trailhead, with another 4 miles to the end of the trail. Head north for 2.5 miles and you'll also find a trailhead complete with water and restrooms. Moreover, that's where the hardpack trail ends and the blacktop begins. BTW, there are picnic tables here, and a delightful variety of flowers and trees planted here."
"Nice entrance to the Tobacco Trail in this area, big parking lot and restrooms. Good place to go on a run or a walk and there is nice flat terrain with tree cover."
