JW Marriott Charlotte

"I was in Charlotte for work and wanted to stay at this Marriott hotel. I booked my hotel under the government rate but unfortunately forgot my ID. Upon entry to the hotel the desk attendant Joseph told me that he couldn’t give me the rate without my id. I understand policies; however all my reservations are under the government rate and I had a photo of my id. He was very dismissive and quite frankly rude. I then overheard him check in another couple who didn’t have whatever id they needed without any problems. He even gave them an upgraded room. This was not only offensive but discriminatory. I will not stay here when I come back to Charlotte nor will I recommend it to anyone."

"Facility is gorgeous and inviting. Here's why I'm giving this hotel 3 stars. Stayed here after new years eve. Specifically asked front desk (night audit) when breakfast was done. He told me 9:30a. I was surprised since it was a week day so I asked again and he assured me it was as I heard it. Ok. Headed downstairs at 9:00 am for breakfast and guess what, it's over. Very poor. Unforced error."

"I’m a regular at this hotel on a monthly basis and the last two times I have noticed the service and food quality has been just okay. Last night I had dinner at Dean’s and the bar was understaffed and the food was just mediocre for first time. I used my points for this stay in order for me to able to enjoy a nice dinner while on business and it will be the last time. The icing on the cake was this morning with housekeeping knocking on the door at 8:30 a.m. seeing if I was about to leave. After, opening the door I had a bad smell in my room that wasn’t pleasant. Overall, just disappointed in the brand the last two stays and I hope they figure it out as I love the JW."

"I was in the process of booking due to hearing such great things about the property. However, I am having an issue getting a specific room/suite question answered. I noticed another reviewer booked this lovely room (see photos), which appears to be a corner room. On the site, the corner room photos don’t show this particular room. Could I kindly know the room specs so that I can book?"

"I’ve stayed at this particular JW Marriott numerous times for work and always had an excellent stay but what triggered me to right a review is because my company was hosting 30 students plus 9 career center directors last week and we had a mishap where a bus we ordered to transport everyone didn’t show. It was 7:30 am and we had to pivot quickly. I started to have colleagues call numerous Ubers and at the same time organize the students to be with an adult in each vehicle. The valet, Austin saw we were scrambling and quickly asked if we needed cars. We said yes and he whistled and 3 Suburbans pulled up instantly! At the same time, I’m trying to verify we have everyone. The front desk staff would hear me call out names without getting responses so they immediately starting calling the rooms of the missing people without me even asking and telling the students to come downstairs immediately. You would have thought they worked for my company. The front desk staff that helped me was Victoria, Dave and David. With their help, I was able to clear the lobby and get everyone in cars with luggage in 20 minutes! This wouldn’t have gone as smoothly as it did without the help of Austin, Victoria, Dave and David and I truly appreciate it! I’m going to call and speak with the GM too but wanted to take the time to right this review! I highly recommend the JW Marriott in Charlotte!"
