"Good parking and the whole place is pretty quiet. North loop has nice views of the lake and island along with some sandy beach/fishing areas. Ample trash cans are along the trail. There's also a couple unmarked spurs. The Duke access trail is more like a gravel road, especially through their cleared areas. Seems good for biking, there is a pump and maintenance station at the parking lot. Wish it had a restroom."
"Have been coming here for a few months now and still love it. It's even better if you get here early and you have the place to yourself if you are biking. There were already some pretty decent trails and now they are adding another that seems like it's going to be a pretty good ride. Cool thing is if you get done riding or walking, you can grab your cooler and your fishing pole and fish for a while without even having to move the truck."
"Mount Holly’s hidden gem. This is a great place for a nature walk or to go fishing. Just sit or stand on a nice rock and enjoy the beauty of the park."
"Great 1.5 mile easy hike along the Catawba River just below Moutain Island lake dam. Shady and well maintained with mountain bike trails too."
"I come here a lot to fish at the dam. Just one flathead tonight. In general it is a nice park, however there are NO restrooms in the park, so be aware of that when you come. Lately, people have been swimming downstream of the dam, and when they leave it looks like a landfill. Not to mention some of the fisherman who leave their trash, unused bait and beer cans on the platforms. There are trash cans in the parking lot, why not use them?"
