"Hi Steven P or Management, The individual working at the store today is unbelievably rude - no sense of customer service - walked in never looked up from his cellphone to acknowledge anyone. I was looking at a sweater didn't see my size - I continued to carry on in the store because I genuinely love it. Today the back room was covered in open boxes making it very difficult to shop regardless I found a stack of the sweaters (the one I was looking for). The guy working proceeded to yell at me stating they were all out. I said I'm looking for the grey sweater in a large - to which he replied "we don't have grey". I pointed at the stack and I know I'm not color blind but maybe he is, so I said that's grey. He pulled the sweater out and throws it at me! Yes throws it! He was mad he had to get off his seat, his phone and actually work. I put everything down my family and I walked out! Individual working on Thursday 7/27! As a business owner I would like to know how my employees are interacting with customers. This unfortunate situation just pushed me out, I'll take my business somewhere else"
"Cabin Fever is a 'must go' in RBK. Cabin Fever and Steve the Owner are on the RBK vibe quality, knowledgeable, and understated essentials, and no 'salesie' here. My go to for gear, and a smart chat."
"Store is cool but the guy behind the counter was very rude. I completely agree with and support any business that requires masks but there is a kind way to ask someone to put a mask on or to not pull down your mask while in the store. I do understand that these are serious times and healthy safety shouldn’t be taken lightly, but the aggressive comments don’t solve what has already happened. Giving 2 stars just because it has a great selection of stuff."
"Summary: Rude Owner. Decided to pop in to see if they carried outdoor research masks, as my boyfriends had fallen out of his pocket earlier that day and we only had one. I lent my boyfriend mine and I went in holding my scarf around my face. I was met with a rude remark from the employee behind the counter - "Ma'am...that's not going to work..." My boyfriend tried to explain we were actually there to look for a mask (as I was leaving without complaint). His immediate response was "I dont hand them out for free.... We have them for sale." I'm not sure why we were greeted with such hostility. I was more than happy to leave, despite having a face covering. Perhaps elastic ear loops improve cloth filtering abilities. Who knows. Either way, my boyfriend was equally turned off by the encounter, and we decided to take our business elsewhere. If you like rude owners, over priced pillows that are embroidered with "upstate", mixed in with misdirected self righteousness, this may be the place for you. Response: Steve, I don't take issue with the fact that you wanted me to leave the store. What bothered me was how unnecessarily rude you were, within seconds of me walking in with a face covering (albeit, not a mask). In hindsight, I do agree that it would have been best for me to just wait outside, I concede to your point there. I see you chose to replace your initial response to my comment with a nicer version. Perhaps using the same discretion in person would serve you well. I'm bumping the star rating up a bit. The shop did look cute, and I recognize that I'm at least partially responsible for this negative encounter. Best of luck with the store."
"Stopped in to check it out, impressed by a well curated store. It's a good combination of things people actually need for outdoor activities, and little items that are fun to pick up while shopping. A wonderful collection of knives that would make most enthusiasts smile, including the multi colored opinels on the counter. I'll stop by again if I find myself in town, for now I'm enjoying the leather work gloves they were selling at a reasonable price."
