Reviews of Crabtree Swamp walking trail
"Nice place for a walk but definitely looks like alligator country."
"I would recommend Crabtree Swamp walking trail if you don't have a lot of time and just want to clear your mind. The walk is short but peaceful, with lots to see. During a mild winter day it is a great place for a short walk, it would be nice if both sides of the canal were open though. The path under the train tracks is fixed and opened up. Thank you"
"There's a small gravel lot next to the bridge where you can launch a kayak. It has some solid but uneven fill on the bank to keep you from sinking in the mud, but it drops off quickly so you have to be careful. There's never a strong current here or tidal effects, and the canal opens into a beautiful Cyprus swamp along the meandering creek. It's worth the effort if you can manage the steep bank and the uneven bottom."
"I am Almost always the only one there. I enjoy walking with my puppy. I occasionally see people fishing. I love how serene it is, water on one side, trees and swamp on the other! There are 3 parts to this park, usually you can access them all providing there has not been rain, otherwise the path is flooded!!!"
"Crabtree Swamp walking trail has some clear age to it and needs a little work done for it but overall it’s a short yet decent trail to walk. It’s about a mile one way from start to finish so if you’re looking for a longer trail this isn’t for you. Otherwise enjoy it the stroll. For future reference, the pathway under the train bridge has been flooded and washed away for a long time. You have to go up and over the train tracks to bypass the flooded path. It’s not dangerous as long as you look both ways for the RJ Corman train that passes through town daily. Until the City of Conway fixes the trail you do have to unfortunately trespass on railroad property."
