Reviews of Bitter Honey
"We went later in the evening, the food and service was great. My only gripe is the loud music, you cannot hear the person sitting across from you. They kept increasing the volume of the music I assume to get people out as they where closing. I don't like when restaurant's do This. Been here a few times and every time has been fantastic. Good food, and good people."
"I had a blast at Bitter Honey. Their Mezcal selection was unbelievable, and Jared mixed wonderful cocktails. Bitter Honey was crowded with a fun crowd on this Friday night in late January. I was decades older than anyone else, but no one cared. People conversed and laughed with me. The food was pretty good too. Bitter Honey would be great for groups. Rochester is a fun town."
"Went to this place for dinner with some friends and ended up having a very unpleasant experience. Initial thoughts were that the place is well-decorated and has good ambiance/vibe but after we were seated, we noticed that service was quite poor. They forgot one of our orders and gave someone else the wrong order. While the chips and dips were fabulous there was a massive lack of chips hence the ratio of chips to dip was off. The non alcoholic margarita was basically a watered down limeade for $9. Most of us ordered tacos which were tasty but the shrimp taco was a quite bitter and most peoples tacos fell apart. Additionally, while the side of corn elote was good the side of beans and rice was quite mid. Finally, they took so long to bring over the check but mentioned that it was because there was a large order being placed. As a result of this wait time I had to go up to the desk and hand it to our waiter. They did refund us for the chips due to the long waited service time. Overall, food was decent but the service was not great."
"Overpriced tacos , good chimichangas and churros. Drinks are made really well btw. But I can’t recommend this for a nice dinner because the music is too loud . It’s a good place to hang out with friends over drinks but the higher prices are just not justified for simple Mexican food ! You can get a lot better Mexican food at other places . Go for the drinks , not for the tacos atleast !"
"We held our wedding rehearsal dinner at Bitter Honey, and I have to tell you that it was one of the BEST decisions we made for the whole wedding weekend. The food and experience are still talked about months later! Right from the start, the staff welcomed us for even touring the space and considering them as an option. The booking process was seamless and the answer to just about every question was "yes." It couldn't have been more lovely, and this was before the event even started! We were setup for cocktail hour style snacks and cocktails before a sit down dinner in the back left area of the restaurant. Even though it is part of the main dining room, it felt so private and intimate. We were able to talk to everyone, get up and walk around, and the servers were ON TOP OF IT. Drinks were flowing and they even packed everything up for us to take leftovers when we had more than expected with guests who couldn't attend due to travel issues. It was just the perfect kick-off for my husband-to-be and I. Thank you, Bitter Honey! We are already planning the next event that we can hold with you, can't wait!"
