Reviews of Truist
"This bank is the absolute worse. I’ve been changing jobs the last two months. I received checks . Never had a problem cashing/direct deposit. Until now! It’s been a 10 day hold on my check and I’ve gotten NO answers on why. All I hear is because it’s a check. So why haven’t I had this problem the last two months????? I’m behind on bills and owe late payments now due to this problem. Truist WILL be paying for all the late fees that have accrued since I deposited the check on the 20th. Oh and the deposit should have been available today! But I’m told it’ll be there tomorrow. So therefore it’s not a 10 day hold it’s 11. For y’all to be a bank y’all sure can’t count Update 10/28/2023 So I deposited a check I received from my retirement savings. I’ve been penalized and paid $25 for over night delivery. Doing this I was expecting to cash the check and get my car fixed. But nope once an again the bank wants to hold my deposit. They didn’t give me the option to cash it. I just don’t get it. This is a bank!!!! You have money but are telling me I have to wait till they receive the funds from the deposit. Makes absolutely no sense. And I know the check is good because I called the retirement company and they approved everything was good to go! Not having access to my money when I need it is flat out illegal. And to hold a check of this importants is ridiculous! No one cares when you explain your problem. I’ve filed bankruptcy because the last bank I dealt with would allow thousands of dollars overdrafts. So I’d hate to take Truist to court too. But for now on. My money will not be sitting in this account."
"I was with CCB that changed to suntrust that changed to Truist. This is the worst bank I ever had to deal with for customer service, been on hold more then 3.5 hrs. Tryed to call twice last week for more then 1 hr.I never got off hold. I found this location and went to visit in person to talk to a real person. This was the sign on the door w.Guess they don’t truest there customers"
"Interior looks modern although its part of a strip. Exterior is not as nice. The bank was not busy and I was greeted right away. The reason I have to leave a mostly negative review is that I tried to cash a check today and there was a fee for trying to cash a check. Banks, if you are listening, these are the reasons why people grow a distaste for you sometimes. My whole life in order to CASH a check at a bank: 1) present the check written to you 2) present your ID 3) the teller will ask you what denomination you would like YOUR MONEY in. But nowadays, banks seem to discover new ways to apply fees to trivial items. The teller informed me this fee applies to any check greater than $50. Really, there shouldn't be any fees to cash any checks, although I understand if the bank wants to put some security on larger withdrawals (like over $5000), or if they want additional forms of ID, etc. These fees might make the bank a little money in the short run, but you've also made it impossible for folks like me to trust you. I have multiple bank accounts with several institutions, and by trying to motivate me to open an account with Suntrust by charging a fee to non-customers, they've actually turned me off."
"I’ve always had great experiences with SunTrust, across mortgage and personal banking products. Even closing an account at this branch was a very quick, easy, and friendly process. I have no qualms recommending this bank. Shoutout to Cody at this branch for the excellent and professional service."
"Stay far away from this branch!! I set up an appointment for noon today and arrived about 10 minutes early only for the greeter to tell me it would be over an hour to see the banker despite showing them I had a confirmation email for my appointment they basically refused to acknowledge its existence. If zero stars were stars possible I would give zero starsm"
