"Nice place for an easy gravel bike ride. We saw lots of deer and squirrels."
"This is a great, peaceful place to walk and enjoy nature and wildlife. The paved trail is nice, although, if you decide to take the nature path be sure to bring bug repellent. I liked that it is a nature preserve mostly undisturbed by any man made efforts. The marsh area, pond and lookout areas are so interesting, you could spend a couple of hours here observing everything there is to see."
"Great wildlife refuge right off of highway 52. It's around an hour from south Charlotte but worth the drive. There is a ton of wildlife to see and good hiking trails throughout. Unfortunately a large section of the boardwalk is currently closed for repairs but I will come back when it's finished."
"We absolutely loved this place. Lots of great birding here! Indigo Bunting, Summer Tanager, Anhinga, Great Blue Heron, Great Egret, Snowy Egret, Red-headed woodpecker, Blue Grosbeak, White-eyed vireo, to name a few. Visitor center is closed right now, wished we could have seen that. Definitely worth the trip!"
"Let me start off by saying that the cell service was PHENOMENAL!!! Twice as good as what I get at home. Very beautiful and quiet place to visit. Great for a picnic, hiking, or just looking at nature. 10/10 would definitely recommend. Hiked roughly 5 miles when I went, but couldn't find the area where I was when I went with my cousin. Fun for anyone of any age. Safe and family friendly."
