About the Big Bradley Falls
Big Bradley Falls is a stunning and somewhat elusive 75-foot waterfall hidden in the Green River Game Lands of Western North Carolina. This popular tourist attraction is not for the faint of heart, as it can only be accessed by advanced hikers. The hike to the overlook is moderate but the hike to the base of the falls involves a roped assisted climb down a vertical rock wall. Despite the challenges, Big Bradley Falls is a must-see destination for experienced and responsible hikers. The trailhead is located in Saluda, North Carolina, just a few miles off Interstate 26. The parking area is easily accessible and the trail is marked with blue blazes and warning signs. Visitors can choose to hike to the overlook for a distant view of the falls or continue down to the base for a full, unobstructed view. The base of the falls features a large swimming hole, making it a popular spot during the summer months. Overall, Big Bradley Falls offers a unique and thrilling experience for those willing to take on the adventure.
Reviews of Big Bradley Falls
"Great hike, cannot cross river in high water. Beautiful scenery and perfect place to bring the pups for a walk in the woods to a pretty spot"
"Not for those with mobility issues or scared to get your feet wet! Big Bradley is hard to see. Little Bradley has a much better view point!"
"I can’t give a review of the falls, as of today, the trail to the falls is closed until further notice due to a gasoline tanker spill on July 14, 2023 and the evidence of fumes and petroleum in the water. Possible water contamination. Since I had my dog with me I don’t want to risk him running into any small creeks or water and getting sick. Maybe next time."
"Such a beautiful place to be! Very easy to access and a very short hike up the path!"
"Difficult terrain, would recommend only for trained hikers. There have been couple of deaths near this area because there’s no defined trail to the bottom of the fall. Best would be to take a guide and do waterfall rappelling like we did."
