Reviews of Ducktown Basin Museum
"We met with a very knowledgeable and personable docent. We highly recommend taking the time to learn about the copper basin - a national historic site."
"Much more than I expected. Very interesting and great history lesson. Our guide actually grew up there while the mines were operational, and her knowledge really added a lot to the tour. Definitely worth visiting."
"Had a GREAT time revisiting the museum to see things I donated back in the day when they opened the museum. The pics show the hard hats and lamps. So pleased to see the improvements and know the history of our area is being passed on."
"Loved the guided tour on the inside. Learning, about the stories and lives of the miners from the past. Seeing the machines used, the types of buildings, the housing they got and lived in. "No actual mining involved." Learning about the minerals, how they were cycled and broken down. And so much more. Certainly worth the time to visit this museum."
"Stumbled upon this place after my car broke down in Copperhill. It was so awesome! The history behind it was fascinating and the scenery was gorgeous. There were a couple of exhibits that were no longer accessible and that was somewhat disappointing but it's definitely still worth visiting as there are lots of other exhibits to see. This is a great place for families, but most of the exhibits are outdoors so go on a nice day."
