Reviews of Sassafras Mountain Tower
"Beautiful views from South Carolina's highest point. First came in May 2019 a few months after this new tower opened and have been back four times since. 360-degree views of the area (including North Carolina's much higher mountains). Highly recommended."
"Amazing spot! Can see so far into NC and the wildflowers in September were incredible, so many birds and insects. We came during international hawk migration week and there were intelligent listers standing by, so cool. The drive up is dreamy and windy, highly recommend."
"It's a beautiful lookout and the signage is so helpful! It's a great place to take kids. They love to stand on the line with 1 foot in SC and 1 in NC."
"Great location to see parts of three states. It is advisable to go on a day where it is relatively clear. To reach the Tower you have to go up a fairly steep paved hill. They also have a handicap accessible path, but we were told that it is a gravel path and not that easy to traverse."
"Beautiful views! The roads are not too bad leading up to the parking. Once there, climb a short, fairly steep paved path to the observation tower. There are a couple of trails.. a 4.4 mile and a 66 mile (yep, 66 mile footpath lol). We took our dogs and they loved it."
