"Great hike,lots of diversity...beautiful views."
"A moderate trail up the cave and great resting area before continuing climbing to Mt LeConte. Beautiful with the fall leaves. Get to the parking lot early as this is a popular area with a lot of tourists."
"Great trail! Scenic and just challenging enough. Parking lot may fill up, but there's plenty of parking on the road to the trail. View is cool, but honestly this one is really enjoyable along the way too."
"My wife and 5 kiddos age range 4 - 15 did this trail today and everybody really enjoyed it. My 4 yr old was getting wore out at the Alum cave bluff. We rested and I carried him on back with a carrier, for about an hr and he wanted down to walk on his own the rest of the way. All in all very nice trail! Lots of “turn offs” to stop and rest. This trail does have an elevation of 4,945. However it is a gradual incline the whole way. So on the way down it’s a gradual decline the whole way. Well worth the 3-4 hrs to get to the bluff! Only took about 1 hr and 50 minutes on the way down. That was with several stops to play in the river. Don’t be afraid to do the trail with younger kiddos. Just give it a try the whole trail is beautiful and enjoyable!"
"The views are beautiful, you encounter people coming and going but sometimes you walk without seeing anyone, it was really slippery in some places because of the ice and narrow ways in some others, the cave bluff had big icicles falling from the top but the view is worth it. Start early if you are not a pro so you can rest and wear comfortable shoes."
