"The Spanish ladies in there always got some attitude problem maybe the manager should tell them to help out the people that don’t speak English and they can barely understand you when speak to them in English"
"close at 8/830 every night even tho they’re supposed to be open till 9 …staff will completely ignore u and make you wait while they make personal calls pretty unbelievable that no management has noticed them closing at 8/830 for months already"
"Ask any broke-down ex-deli clerk with a drinking problem if there's a right way and a wrong way to make a hero sandwich, he'll tell you "yes," and he'll proceed to describe one of 3 things: 1) cut the bread lengthwise all the way through, 2) cut the bread lengthwise along the side which is slightly more curved--but not all the way through--so that the hero is like open, praying hands, or 3) the loaf is "cored" from above, with the knife moving in a short sawing motion, the long dorsal "hat" of the hero is lifted out, the interior of the bottom part of the loaf is "scooped" and then the loaf is reassembled minus the scoopings. There will be differences of opinion about the organization and selection of the hero's contents, and I'm not gonna get into that; but if we can keep the condiments to mustard, mayo, the "dressings," then most deli clerks will agree that mustard goes on the side of the bread that touches the meat, the "dressing" goes on the side that touches the "salad," and mayo can go on either. Now, you need to know all this because otherwise you can't appreciate how lucky Long Beach is to have a Subway Sandwich Shop subsidized by the Department of Corrections and our reptilian overlords at the Rand Corporation, where over-medicated Mk Ultra victims in jumpsuits shuffle back and forth behind the spit-shield, openly practicing rare and (in some countries) outlawed methods of sandwich construction. Witness the culinary equivalent of a donkey show. As an added bonus, If you can throw change into the tip-box by the register, the employee who just molested your sandwich will freeze and a person I believe might be a "trustee" bolts out of the back room where they stack the "unconscious ones" and snatches up the money. The prisoners are motionless while she stands there counting the coins and panting, and then she runs back inside. This will happen each and every time you throw money in the box."
"I was a customer for many many years. Would go to many different locations but especially the LB one as I live and work here. A few months ago after eating a buffalo chicken sandwich, with a few hours, I go very sick. Definitely food poisoning! Sick all night long. I reached out to corporate and they told me the owner of this location would contact me. They never did. I will never return to their establishment or another one again."
"The staff is always careful and prepares exactly what I want. The salad/toppings bar always looks fresh. The tables are clean and the service is quick during lunch rush hours. There are 2 women during opening hours who always remember my order and are so friendly that it makes my day, thank you!!"
