Reviews of Million Dollar View
"Million dollar view cabin is absolutely beautiful. My kids tried to convince me to move in lol. I have no complaints. Cabin was clean and beautiful. 3 bears came every couple of hrs checking the bbq grill lol. They looked at us through the glass door and didn't pay us any mind. The hill up to this cabin is treacherous. Scared me half to death, didn't help my family drove up in a 12 passenger transit van. It was rough. In the rain or snow it will be impossible. We will be back. Had to check in late because it took a while to clean the cabin but I didn't mind. Had to share the pool with the neighbors but they were nice and we took turns"
"I booked a cabin for my family and I to attend the million dollar view cabin and a few days before my trip my cabin was switched to a whole other cabin that was smaller and didn’t have any thing I looked forward to available. The customer service rep Becky was rude and kept saying “well if you don’t like it you can get a refund.” I feel the only reason I was rejected the cabin was because I had to upload my ID and the owner or the company saw I was a black women and didn’t want me staying in that cabin. I feel I was racially profiled and I will never book a trip with this company ever again in my life, nor will my family."
"Loved the cabin and pool house. Driveway is extremely steep but has plenty of level parking. Always fun seeing black bears on the mountain."
"We rented the Million Dollar View cabin for the week of July 27 - August 3, 2019 and as much as we wanted to enjoy the week, we could not. My disabled mother-in-law rented our family this cabin so that we could get some much needed family time after my husband returned from his third deployment. There were 11 of us and the cabin was large enough to accommodate us all. The area, Wears Valley, is beautiful and the local shops are pretty amazing. That being said, the driveway to the cabin is straight up the mountain, crumbling and all but impassable when wet. The carpet downstairs was awful with multiple large stains and places that the carpet tack strips were exposed and it would stab you in the feet if you weren’t careful. The hot tub was missing the outside cover and the wires underneath were exposed. The pool was unusable, murky and full of trash/debris and the smell in the pool house was unbearable. We had no TV all week, no hand towels, no wash cloths, the sheets appeared to be clean but the bedspreads were threadbare and very dirty. There were no linens for the futon. The drier worked only part of the time. There was food and trash under the furniture, and the hardwood floors left your feet black after walking on them. There were no broom or mop available on the property. There were dirty dishes in the cabinets and cigarette butts and vomit on the upstairs porch. One of the upstairs showers flooded the main level bathroom whenever someone took a shower in it. The grill was filthy and covered in something I’m assuming was animal feces. The windows for our Million Dollar View were so dirty you could barely see out of them. The HVAC return filters were so dirty that they had to be removed for the Air conditioner to actually function. We spoke with the management company every day for the first 5 days and then to the owners on day 6, 7 and 8. After speaking with Barb in day 7 I was assured that they would get back to me and the situation would be handled. I had to call her back on day 8 after she did not return my call and she did not remember who I was or what our issues were. The management companies solution on check-out was to “compensate” my mother in law less than one nights stay and I have yet to hear back from Barb. No one would come out and fix or clean ANYTHING!! This is completely unacceptable and sad, as this definitely has the potential to be a beautiful cabin with amazing views."
"Owner used security camera to spy on us! Let me preface this by saying Hearthside Rentals is a wonderful management company and they do an amazing job with their properties, but you will be better served to browse past Million Dollar View and pick another property. I own and manage real estate in VA, WV, MI and FL. My family came to the Pigeon Forge area and reserved a total of 4 cabins during a two week stay for my daughters wedding. A small cabin before the wedding, a 16 bedroom cabin for the 3 day wedding weekend and two small cabins for after the wedding. Million Dollar View was the first cabin we stayed in. We arrived and I began to unpack and look around and was puzzled as to why this message about the security system was taped to the internet router: "Security Router Only, May Incur Additional Charges if Reset". It was odd considering we weren't asked to set the alarm during our stay, yet they were concerned enough to threaten guests with additional charges should they disable the system. Their reason became known to me the very next morning when I was called by the management company to say that I owed an additional $60 for the extra dog that was seen brought to the property. There was confusion with the management company and they only put me down for two dogs instead of including my daughters dog on the guest list too. A $60 fee is insignificant to me and I certainly would never try to avoid a pet fee. I was shocked when they called because 1. I thought they were aware of the 3 dogs, 2. when I realized they didn't know, I wondered how did this come to their attention in such a remote place when my daughters dog had just arrived a mere hours before we were called?! Suddenly that message about not resetting their security router made sense to me...their "security" isn't just about safety, it's also about SPYING ON THEIR GUESTS. I went to the entrance and sure enough there is a camera and I realized that the only way they could have known about the 3rd dog that had just arrived was to get a message each time the door opens and then tune in to their video footage, which seems to serve more as SPYWARE than security because they NEVER requested or gave instructions to set the alarm. I immediately began to think about when I changed clothes and wondering was that somehow captured too? Do they also tune in to audio via the monitor setting on the kitchen counter of the cabin? I would understand if the place sets empty and they check to make sure that it is their tenant checking in, but my daughter arrived hours later and they were still viewing. The thoughts of the owner of this property spying makes my skin crawl, it's disgustingly gross, and I felt violated! It's a very unsettling feeling to think you have the right of quiet enjoyment of a rental, only to find out the owners are spying on you! It was especially disheartening because this is how my daughters much anticipated wedding celebration started."
