Reviews of Korean Noodle House
"If you’re trying out a new Korean-Chinese restaurant then all that matters is the Jjajangmyun and jjambbong. Tried both and they were delicious! Classic taste and healthy serving. My only critique is the potatoes in the jjajang sauce. Not a big fan. Other than that looking forward to coming back."
"Have been here twice for the army stew. It’s so delicious and filling and we travel 1.5 hours for this place."
"We were visiting from Atlanta where everyone always assumes the best Korean food can be found, but I politely disagree. Northern Boulevard, with all its humble storefronts, is where some of the tastiest hidden treasures can be found. I thought I knew where the best jjajangmyun, or black bean noodles, were, but in the time I've lived outside of New York, this noodle house has apparently and recently gained the reputation of the best jjajangmyun in town. There are tons of combination platters in case you're craving a variety of the most popular plates (with cleverly sectioned off bowls that keep the two entrees separate), but I went straight for my tried and true order of black bean noodles and especially appreciated that there was a vegetarian variety for non-meat eaters like me. I've never seen whole broccoli florets in my black bean sauce but I appreciated the healthful touch. Plus everyone else at the table who ordered the regular kind seemed to be gazing enviously at my verdant pops of veg. The noodles are fresh, with just the slightest toothsome quality, and the sauce was just as delicious as my parents promised it'd be. We also ordered some of the spicy battered shrimp, which ended up being a little softer than I'd like, but when a dish is so saucy, it's hard to maintain a crunchy batter. This was our very first meal after our plane touched down in New York, and it'll likely be where I have every first meal henceforth when I visit."
"I always like coming here. They have great homemade and authentic Korean food. We got also got Mandu and kimchi to take home, love the kimchi. The Mandu is slightly overpriced and understuffed but the taste is great."
"Kun Sohn Korean Noodle House is one of my absolute favorite go-to places all-year round for a great comfort meal that just makes me feel... happy and healed. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the direct translation for "Kun Sohn" is "Big Hand" which translates to "Big Portions." I always leave very satisfied (as does my wallet thanks to the reasonable prices). The super tasty food is totally homemade by the two women who I presume own the restaurant (#supportLocalBusiness). That's as authentic Korean as you can get. You can absolutely taste the difference at the first bite. The noodles are soooo fresh and chewy and the soups are extremely tasty! These two fine ladies also make the side dishes from scratch, which I love. I was very happy to discover they sell the side dishes in 16 - 64 oz containers (which came in handy paired with brown rice and eggs for a healthy and quick meal at home). Kun Sohn doesn't just make the best noodles ever. They offer many other dishes and I aim to try every one on the menu. My #1 favorite is the seafood pancake. I do not know what magic they put into it, but it has just the right amount of crunch and savory chewy-mealiness. My other favorite staples are the fish casserole (both kinds on the menu) and sesame noodle (if you seed cycle for health, this is a perfect dish). I also love their "Samgyetang, which is a chicken soup/stew chock-full of nutrients. In the summer, this soup restores your electrolytes. I also get Samgyetang when I'm feeling sick or have the flu. Last but not least, I love the savory dumplings (as a soup or by itself). The atmosphere is as calm and comforting as the food. You can tell the two women really know their way around the kitchen. Even the tea they serve you is absolutely delightful. I'm getting an intense craving and am now super hungry from writing this -- my stomach is literally growling lol! Guess where I'm going for dinner? :)"
