"This is the vegetable pie I got. It was mostly full of overdone broccoli, a few pieces of red pepper, and some green whole olives. Seemed like they didn't have vegetables for the pizza so they just put whatever they found. I would have appreciate it if they told me the veggie pie wasn't available at the moment."
"I was looking for a nice Kebab/Briyani place on my way from JFK airport to my place in CT. Not too far from the highway. Halal Diner had good reviews and seemed quite close. So, I went in and asked for some recommendations. The owner was very nice and very articulate. He suggested 'Beef Kofta and Lamb Tikka' with Afghani rice and bread. And, Chicken Tikka briyani. (When tried to order Chicken briyani) When I asked about Indian type groceries, he suggested their place near by. That place also had dishes we don't get to see as much in CT. (May be I did not look well). Like the Chicken Gyro. We had a nice conversation and as Dads, we shared some notes. I meant to drive home (1.15 hours) and eat, but got hungry. So, pulled over and tried some of that Lamb Tikka! It was out of this World! (I have to tone it down bcos I got hungry, but it was truly delectable. Let me bring my daughter next time, my friend. She should try the lamb in person!"
"This restaurant’s chef cooks so well! I ordered Baba Ghanoush with naan for the appetizer. It was good. I had the chicken vindaloo with rice. The vindaloo was salty and not good. My husband had the biryani with lamb which was delicious. I ended up sharing with him and not eating the vindaloo. The chicken and vegetable samosas are sooo yummy! The baklava was excellent for dessert. Only suggestion was for appetizer plates not to be paper because it was messy mixing all the apps with the sauces. Highly recommend this spot."
"Food tasted good. We ordered Morog Polao, Kabab platter, Chicken Sandwich combo. Their chicken sandwich is really different and I love it. Chicken sandwich is not typical breaded chicken breast meat. They made the patty with chicken keema. I ordered food before from this restaurant. What I noticed they give more food when dine in than take out."
"Halal Diner has a nice nice mix of south asian dishes that hit the spot. The lamb biryani was cooked well. The chicken tikka was moist and tender. The chicken kofta was moist and tender. The service was excellent and the prices were very reasonable."
