"Fantastic! Really nice people who operate the restaurant, tasty, best quality food with really large portion. We were the first customers in the morning and went back again the same evening. The Taiwanese Rice noodles dish ran out but the nice owner lady went downstairs, brought up more rice noodles and made us a gigantic portion it took us two days to finish at home. Thank you for the generosity."
"I saw this place had quite high reviews, was hungry so I tried this place out. I got the Crispy chicken and the Taiwanese railroad bento box with sausage like another reviewer wrote about. It is true the restaurant is handled by an old couple and not very good at English. I ordered on the phone at lunch so while the food was ready, had to wait on line. It's actually impressive how much food they prepare. There are no seating inside, purely just takeout. I was going to pay by credit card, but she said it will cost extra $1-2 or something, so I paid by cash. As for the food, the Crispy chicken tasted alright, but some parts of it were overcooked. The inside wasn't dry, just the outside a bit darker than it should be. The fried egg was overcooked and all brown. The sausage had this strange sweetish tangy flavor to it, but not for me. The portion size was a decent. A lot of people have said this isn't like your average Chinese restaurant, and it might not be, but to be honest, it felt quite average besides the extra Taiwanese dishes. It seems like a place to fill your stomach and good for locals who like the food. But the food is simply Ok, not a place to go out for a treat. I would recommend Great East instead"
"The food is large portion for sure. The taste of the food is above average. I cant say it is authentic taiwan food but it is pretty good in flavor. Some of the meat is little dry in general. The rice is soft and the sauce is perfect match with the rice"
"I would have written this place off if I never went inside. So, this place looks like your run of the mill Chinese restaurant, but it's actually not. They serve very authentic Taiwanese food, and it's delicious. When you walk in, they still have the classic Chinese menu items on the wall. . . They just don't sell them. The workers there are an older couple, so speed is not their high point. However, they are very polite and understanding. They also make some delicious food that is well worth the wait. The price is cheap too. I got the crispy chicken cutlet with Taiwanese sausage railroad bento box. The amount of food for that price was insane. Huge chicken cutlets, marinated boiled egg, veggies and the sausage all over white rice. It also came with a soup but I forgot about that and left it in my car for a few days. . . Bottom line, order ahead, find parking, and enjoy."
"Trying this take-out for the first time and very good bento box meals. I ordered the Eel, Chicken Leg and Pork Chop, Shredded Dried Bean Curd & Pork over rice and the Taiwanese Fried Rice Cake. All very tasty and large potions! They really took their time to make the bento looks nice...even when it is just a takeout order!"
