"Here are my 2 cents about my visit to chocobar cortes. My girlfriends and I made reservations for Sunday brunch. The place is cute and the service was great. The staff worked together to make sure food came out together, quick and hot. However, I must say, the chocomartini was weak, not much liquor, it tasted like a frozen frappé. I think some of the food items are overpriced. We ordered the picadera, and for $27, we got 2 empanadas, 2 tostones with carne asada, 1 small suruyo, and 1 small alcapurria. We also ordered chicken and waffles $25, but we didn't get chicken, we got "nuggets" for that price I was expecting at least one real piece of chicken or one chicken tender, not McDonald's nuggets (not tasty at all). Overall, the atmosphere is nice, the service is great, and the food was good, but please consider serving real fried chicken with your waffles."
"Love having this location in the Bronx. It is a wonderful enclave that invites all walks of life into its space. Some creative appetizers on the menu and a plethora of Rum to choose from. The staff are friendly and it's always easy to chat up with your neighbor at the bar."
"Update: Went back in July 2023. Everything was delicious. My new favorite is the Pollo Guisado: stewed chicken empanadas. My coworker told me about The Chocobar Corte. I was excited to hear the restaurant serves chocolate in just about all of their dishes and drinks. I was excited to visit the restaurant, I decided to take my friend here for her birthday. I visited this location mid-August 2022. To top things off, the night we went was first night of Queer Night. When we arrived, we were greeted and seated right away. The place is very vibrant, great atmosphere, and great music. Our waiter Javi came over to greet us. Javi was very friendly and attentive as well as the other staff. They kept asking us how were things and if we needed anything. We ordered the Vodka Fizz and it was great. I’m not a drinker and only like drinks if they are sweet, Javi recommended the Vodka Fizz and it was absolutely delicious. But let me tell you the drink snuck up on me. When we ordered our drinks, it didn’t take long for us to receive them. We ordered our food shortly afterwards and it also didn’t take long to come out. I ordered the Chocoburger with curly fries and it was so delicious. The ketchup that came with my food had chocolate in it and it was perfect. I prefer my burgers well done and they cooked it perfectly. It wasn’t overcooked and was packed with flavor. My friend ordered the Chocobar House Grill and it was also packed with flavor. I’m not a fan of mofongo but let me tell you it was delicious. For dessert I ordered the Chocolate Molten Cake and the Churros with dark chocolate sauce. I was a bit sad they don’t do Happy Birthdays or have sparklers for dessert but everyone was wishing my friend a happy birthday. The Cake was lacking it was a bit bland and tasted watery to me. But let me tell you about these Churros. I’m not a fan of Churros either but once I ate one, I couldn’t stop. They were the BEST Churros I’ve ever tasted!!!!! The restaurant is a bit on the small side so I recommend making a reservation to attend. I recommend sitting near the bar side because the back room you can’t see much if there is entertainment. There is also only one bathroom in the restaurant. The décor is absolutely beautiful. Queer Night was so much fun, we were entertained by Rhiannon Nichelle, she was absolutely great. She kept us entertained all evening. We had a blast visiting the Chocobar. I’m unsure of how to get to the restaurant via public transportation because we went by car. But we were able to find parking. I would definitely visit this location again. Try it you may like it and you’re supporting a Latino Owned Business."
"The rich, chocolate-infused lunch was definitely worth the 1.5 hr long subway ride to the Bronx from BK! The shrimp was a special highlight, along with the coconut cream latte. Honestly everything was great though. The chocolate grilled cheese was surprisingly good. And the service + ambiance couldn't be better. #chocolate #chocolatelover #chocolatelove #lunch #bronxeats #thebx"
"Really impressed by the fare at Chocobar Cortes. Came here for a birthday with 20 people and we all got our drinks and food in a timely manner. Not only was it delicious, but also each dish from the vegan alcapurria, fish empanada, and house salmon grill was flavorful and came out hot. Would highly recommend for groups looking for a cute spot to celebrate with great service, dates looking for romantic lighting, or locals looking for a good time in the neighborhood. Would come here again. Ps ask about the history of this place which extends to puerto rico in the 1950s."
