Reviews of Sweet Catch BK
"I really enjoy my experience every time I visit Sweet Catch! The decor is the first thing that stands out. It’s a beautiful atmosphere part nostalgia with black and white photos of African American sea life, and part fun with a cozy bar and backyard. The food is the main attraction. I’ve tasted almost everything on the menu buy really enjoy the mac and cheese and crab dip. My drink was delicious as well. I will be returning! Recommended!!"
"Last month the girls and I stopped by Sweet Catch to check out their brunch selections. The ladies had been before (I think for a soft opening event) however, this was my first time. From on-set I was a fan because the seafood centered menu, but to learn that this establishment is Black Woman Owned, was literal the butter to my lobster, so to speak. I decided to go with Shrimp and Grits but was told that they were out for the day, visible disappointed they managed to work something out for me. I was so happy they did... shrimp n grits 10/10 would highly recommend. My two girlfriends ordered the crab cake eggs benedict and the shrimp, chicken and waffles. I had the opportunity to try both. The crab cakes were good and the fried shrimp was amazing, we order an additional side of shrimp. The waffle left us all with questions, it was a savory corn waffle but the powdered sugar and syrup did not really appeal to any of us. Overall a great experience, small yet comfy atmosphere with nice lighting and decor and great staff with a DJ providing the brunch vibes. Definitely worth checking out. Just A Note: Head to the back for a cool photo-opt."
"I am a local in the area and first tried this restaurant when they first opened. I was intrigued to find out not only was it Black owned but owned by two beautiful women. Over the weekend I decided to host my daughter's second birthday in their private room and I will say the staff here exceeded my expectations. Initially I reserved for 13 people but that quickly turned into 25+ and the host and owner here were more than accommodating . They allowed us to play music, provided cards for my guest to play games while we waited for our meals, and did not mess up one order for my entire party. Everyone enjoyed the drinks appetizers and dinner and the overall atmosphere was just a vibe. My daughter even drove her little Mercedes Benz into the restaurant which was a cute little touch to the birthday dinner party. The bill came out to close to $2,000 but between 16 adults that was expected and very feasible. We were just ordering whatever at some point and needless to say expected it to be much higher. I highly recommend this spot for date night , girls night , family dinner or even just a quick drink or meal. The music is always great and the atmosphere is always so positive and chic. 10 out of 10 highly RECOMMEND. Thank you Sweet Catch"
"This place has been on my radar for quite some time now. I can honestly say it was well worth the anticipation! We decided to have brunch and I highly recommend making a reservation in advance to secure your seat (we made ours in the morning). I would suggest this place for a romantic date night, a double date, or simply catching up with a friend. However, I wouldn't recommend it for parties larger than 6 as the establishment is on the smaller side. To my surprise, there was a DJ playing during brunch. I was initially skeptical because most places nowadays have such loud music that it feels like you're in a club. But that wasn't the case here, and it actually added to the overall atmosphere. We opted for the bottomless brunch, which costs $60 per person for 90 minutes. You can switch up the flavors as you please. We started with the cheesy grits and the candied bacon, and let me tell you, they were absolutely amazing. The grits were the cheesiest and smoothest I've ever had. And the candied bacon... I think I'll be dreaming about it until my next visit. For our main dish, we both chose the cornbread waffle with shrimp and chicken. The waffle tasted like a cheddar bay biscuit and the flavors were so intense that I was almost overwhelmed. The highlight of our experience was when the chef came out to ask us how everything was. He even checked the temperature of each party in the building. We made sure to express our appreciation in that moment! Now, I'm curious about what dinner would be like here, so we will definitely be returning."
