"I stayed in Beverly's room. It was a delightful experience with beautiful natural light and old fashioned comfort. As an artist I love the history and ambiance of this charming inn."
"It’s not a bed and breakfast, or at least we didn’t see breakfast. We stayed in the artist loft and it was very roomy….maybe too roomy? Just a space heater for the entire floor. No coffee in the room. Small paper cups instead of real water glasses. The lobby is drab and the place just feels sad. The innkeepers probably are convalescing in older age and not very outgoing for innkeepers. I love old houses and historic places but this place was just luke-warm. The room should have been maybe $100.00. This place does have so much potential."
"Don't stay here! First off, she has no voice mail and decides when to pick up and when to not pick up. I called her and spoke with her to make reservations. Since she was driving, She then asked me to put it in the system. I booked a massage as well as a nice thing for my wife. After getting lost because the address is wrong on google and calling, we gave up. So we couldn't stay the night. The next day, a man answers the door after 30 minutes of knocking to greet me in the dark dungeon, otherwise known as a lobby. He gets on his flip phone to call the owner. She picks right up even though I called several times th at day. They offered us to stay for the night, but once we saw the dirty room and curved mattress, we declined. At the end of the conversation, she said, I won't charge you as long as you don't give me a bad review." After trying to resolve it again today after being charged, she proceeded to yell at us and beyond rude without any resolution. So, I am reviewing my experience so you don't have the same one. Don't go there."
"Don’t let google map send you east when you should be going west. Very beautiful old house nice clean room, Enjoyed the weekend here. Perfectly located between the music venue and the small little town of Black Mountain would definitely book it again!! I only stay at locally owned place’s screw the big chain hotels"
"Do NOT book this place! I felt so scammed. Thankfully my credit card company ruled in my favor and I got a full refund. I booked a stay here via AAA. The Inn's address given to me by AAA was (and still is) incomplete - which is the responsibility of the owner to maintain - and address given on Google was (and still is) incorrect. I was not able to find the establishment because of this negligence - I was navigated to the opposite side of town. I had to book a different hotel after a 10 hour drive and after an hour of trying to find this place in a random neighborhood. When I spoke to the owner on the phone the next morning (she wasn't answering my repeated calls at 8pm despite knowing her guest never arrived), she said she was aware of these issues, that other guests had the same problem I did, yet she had not taken measures to update her listings on AAA or Google - and was unwilling to give me a refund. She was also quite rude. Months later, I am seeing that the address has not been corrected by the owner for either online listing. Clearly the owner doesn't care if her would-be guests are inconvenienced or can't find the place, given that she has a "no refunds" policy. Other information on the Inn's AAA and Google listings was misleading and incorrect (there's actually a quite limited check-in time, breakfast is not offered, etc.), and if correct information had been provided I would not have booked with them to begin with. Agents with AAA attempted to reach the owner to tell her to update the information on the listing, too. Furthermore, when I was booking my alternate stay at a nearby hotel (Hampton Inn in Black Mountain - really nice stay, such nice people!), they said they've had other guests that booked with the Black Mountain Inn, took one step inside, and turned right back around! If anyone else runs into the same issue: file a dispute with your credit card company if possible. I made my case based on the aforementioned information, and they issued me a full refund."
