"This was by far the best pizza I had during my stay in New York, it might even be one of the best non-traditional pizza's i've ever had. This place advertises itself as a famous spot and rightfully so, this is one of those spots that actually live up to the hype. The range of unique pizza's will make you insanely indecisive as you'd want to try everything, I ended up going for a normal pepperoni slice and a mac & cheese pizza so I could see if this place can do both traditional plus Detroit-style slices well. The pepperoni slice was insanely good, it was a good mix of crispy and floppy, however, the mac & cheese pizza exceeded all of my expectations. The mac & cheese did not make the pizza soggy (as I would have expected), it was extremely crispy till the very last bite and it had some sort of sauce on it that really added to the flavour. I also got to try a few bites of the buffalo chicken one and the mushroom one, these was just as crispy and just as good which really shocked me as all of these pizza's are reheated after you order. The only downfall was the service, it wasn't anything particularly special and the server didn't really give off a welcoming vibe which did make the atmosphere feel a bit off, however, this was something very minor so I would still 100% recommend coming here if you're ever in New York! I can't wait to come back soon to try more of the toppings!"
"The pizza flavors are very unique and delicious here. I have been here before and to other Champion Pizza locations in the city also. This place has a very interesting history and the owner/founder is a very well known pizza chef. There are so many unique flavors but today I decided to just get a classic: pepperoni. The pepperoni here is very interesting. I love how the pepperoni pieces are all curved like little tiny bowls of meat."
"I came because they had a special 2 medium pies get 1 free. Also, they got lots of advertisement saying they win awards, many news food critic reviews, and Food Network took photos with them. Pizza is doughy and crust is very big. I prefer skinny and crunchy crust. I also had better tasting pizzas at other locations. Small eating area with 3 rows of tables. Service was friendly though. They charge a 3.5% fee for credit card which they don't have a sign or let you know. Not to my liking and I will not return."
"Grabbed buffalo chicken slices as a combo/special here for a quick bite. Service was polite and speedy. The pizza itself was not great...but it wasn't horrible either. Edible and fulfilled my hunger but was a bit bland as others have mentioned. Grateful this is an alternative to the place up the block, but it does leave more to be desired for a "New York Slice""
"Solid pizza, especially for Flushing. For anyone who has traveled through flushing frequently, they are well aware that good pizza is hard to find. While champion pizza can be easily beaten on Manhattan Island, in Flushing your options are limited. It is definitely a solid pizza and worth a try if you’re in Flushing and need something besides Chinese food. This will become a frequent stop of mine as it is a lot more convenient than a 40+ min ride on the 7 to Midtown."
