"The management here is atrociously rude and disrespectful. Most of the people staying here are homeless and very very problematic. The rooms are clean, but the area itself is incredibly noisy, and wayyyyy too sketchy for me. Also their heaters don't work right, it's either way too hot or way too cold. It's also very overpriced. You can drive 18 mi to hickory and get a way better room at a much nicer hotel for two thirds the price of one of these rooms. Do not stay here!!!"

"My husband and I made reservations there. My Daughter was telling me about the panhandlers and drug activity there. I canceled our reservation due to safety reasons, and wouldn’t refund my money back. I bought the insurance as well. AIG wouldn’t refund our money. This place is a rip off. If this is how they make money, they are criminals themselves. I’ve been reading some of the reviews and other people are saying the same thing about Drug use there. I don’t recommend anyone to stay there. Don’t trust them to be honest with you about the drug use there. We will never stay at a red a roof inn at all. Just please no good respectable person needs to stay here."

"The staff at this location is very nice. The people that run this motel are extremely knowledgeable and polite. They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. I highly recommend staying here. I will definitely stay here again before I would even consider staying at another motel in this area."

"I am a person who is easy to get along with. I called this location at 6 in the morning to see if they had any rooms available and I just wanted to get a couple of hours sleep because I didn't want to have to drive all the way home and back down to Hickory then back home. Not once was I trying to get an hour rate. If I was allowed to check in on basically the time where check out is at 11 I wanted to do that. I had to pay $40 additional dollars for an early check in fee. That is ridiculous and honestly the quality of the room and people I got put in was not worth $133.00. I unfortunately have to say that I will not be staying at this location again."

"We stayed for a long weekend with our dog. There is a beautiful greenway steps away from the hotel, which was great -- we took a couple of good walks there. The hotel is about half an hour away from Hickory and Pisgah National Forest, so it's easy to get to those places. There are a bunch of chain restaurants nearby, which makes feeding yourself simple. The room was cramped. There was barely enough floor space for our dog's bed, which isn't that big. The room also smelled like cigarettes, although it's hard to tell if it's because people smoked in the room or outside it and the smoke drifted in. A lady at the front desk gave us some air freshener to spray (it turned out to be fabric softener, but we appreciated the sentiment). Nobody came into our room to make the bed, hang towels, etc., the three days we were there. I'm not sure if that's standard operating procedure or an oversight. Breakfast was disappointing. There's a waffle iron, but most of the options were microwavable breakfast sandwiches, cereal, granola bars, etc. There's a Waffle House next door though It's not a bad hotel if you are bringing a dog and plan to be outdoors a lot, but not a great spot if you are looking for a getaway that involves relaxing in your room."
